Kx used for live tv
Hi all,
just thought i would mention that two Live TV kids tv shows I engineer daily wouldnt be possable without the kx drivers (or alot of $$ spent)
We brodcast a daily afternoon kids show and a Saturday morning show as well, the kx drivers enable us to play multiple music tracks and sound effects which we then mix thru the sound desk (a Calrec S2 36 channel) the flexability we now have enables us to make a nice slick and interesting show.
Wel also have 2 minidisc players and a cd player as well.

despite only being for kids the two shows "Studio 2" and "Saturday morning Disney" are probably 2 of the busyest shows, and the most fun to work on. How many programs can you put Fart noises and the like to air and not get told off

This is pretty nifty. What settings do you use for these recordings. 16 bit, 44.1 ?

All we use the computer based audio for is playback, essentially its a more convienent way of haveing a "digicart" system. One of the guys at work made a web based search engine for our sound effects library which is about 200 + cd's worth of FX, all able to be searched and downloaded to the local machine in either wave or Mp3. for what its worth the KX is set up to 44.1/16bit. but as its a live tv show its all mixed thru an analogue sound desk, along with the people talking and video tapes etc
