Whatīs about making a Sampler-CD from kX-users material to support kX-project?!
Hi all!
I heard some of your songs in the last time and I found them great and inspirative. So I had the idea to make a Sampler-CD (since Iīm on a studio here ) with your music. If you want to give me your stuff, I can compile it and make a small edition of pure kX-music in the highest possible quality (and with a picturized case and so on). But thereīs a very important condition: I can only use tracks you made of your own (so no cover versions) and the music must be kX-created. You can send me your stuff via CD, so *.wav or *.aif with 48kHz/16Bit. I will try to make a good mastering and then I will try to sell the CD around to get a bit money that can fully reflow to the kX-project, finally you can order CDs to sell around your location. If you want to participate: reply here!
I will post an address, if there is some interest.

Okay, I would say, all the people here they want to be part of it, should make a track that reflects the composerīs relationship to music, no matter what kind of music this may be. The track should be >3 minutes of length, to give the listener the possibility to "flow" into the sound. If you think, your mix is not okay, I can mix the sound up (I use CubaseSX1.06 for mixing), but I think itīs better, if all of the sound comes from the composer itself. I only try to make a song mastering, so that the general sound of all tracks is not too different and quite fat . I will also create a track for the first project. You donīt have to think, that I want to make money with your songs, I only ask you, whether you want to give some support back to kX and encourage some other users, what you can realize, if using a customer soundcard and a piece of damn good software! For you this project may be a window to the world, just a fun with a bit more... BTW, I think about a price of only some EUR/$ and and if someone want to pay more, to make a bigger donation to kX, why not.
@ dj, thanks for your offer to make a cover design, I think itīs a good idea.

This sounds like a fantastic idea. Please count me in! I will be more than happy to donate any percentage that I would possibly make to Eugene. I am guilty to admit that I've been using and depending on his drivers for ages, and haven't paid him the respect or donations he rightly deserves.
I am really excited about this project Travel Rec! I know that I'm very new to these forums, but I can see (and hear) some extremely tallented and like-minded folks who together make using a soundcard driver into a real community. The CD is going to be a winner!

Yes, thats the intention behind, everyone gives a small investment of time and brain and at the end there is (hopefully) a powerful support to the kX-project. Once upon ago there was a T-shirt idea, but I think, this will be more specific to that what kX really means. You all are welcome!
Address for the sounds to send:
TravelRec.-Mobilstudio
Postfach (P.O-Box) 18 19

Please tell me if you sent some material so that I can go to receive it. Thank you!

Thanks dj for making this sticky here!
Uploading wave in the net is fine, but I canīt download it unfortunately due to bandwith-limitation. Whatīs the poblem with a CD? You can take the little CD-Rom with space for 20 minutes of 44.1 music or 250MB Data. It fits into a letter... ok, no guarantee at all...

great idea I have some mp3s I saved some time ago, but we will need to browse this forum and find the authors...
--
I will send dj_stick some kX-related clipart for the CD-cover
I guess it should be audio-cd, not mp3/data... but with data section/track with the driver binary and some kx-related stuff (just for promotion)

hi travelrec,
i wonder if there needs to be a "c.d's should be in by" date for this , otherwise i can see it maybe going on without an end? maybe a closing date of october or something??
what do you think?
just wondering also...what if you get inundated with LOADs of songs travelrec?? should there be a voting system for the best 12 or something... i dunno just thinking of potential issues that may come up?

i guess it should all be wav otherwise we get loss of quality?
