Not impressed. Not with the kind of claims ATI has been making vs. real world values. Waiting to see what will happen with R5s however.

Not impressed...yet. If they raise the 60Hz @ 1600X1200 limitations and with the X1800's im sure it will rock.

Think it's not as well implemented as NV. But maybe R520 Crossfire will rock?

Nice review - liked that you tried with lots of different games...
The underlying technology is obviously working well, and ATI has a solid platform (mainboard chipset) to use the cards, but I wasn't astounded because of the present price/performance against their competition (equal, no better...) and I really had expected them to be able to implement the technology. ATI hopefully will take the price/performance lead with their next revision of GPU, which, with Avivo technology and Crossfire tech across different cards available, should be much more impressive and flexible.

i didn't even know crossfire was even available. Where i work, we hardly carry any ATI cards, and when we do, most of them are low to mid range cards. I haven't seen any other retailer or online store carry the crossfire cards.
and the review posted by dsdsdk, at first i was unimpressed with the comparing results between the x850xt crossfire and the 7800gtx in SLI, because the GTXs were performing better than the x850. Then i remembered that it wasn't the r520 . So now i'm a little more hopeful .

Not impressed. Will be waiting for the "next" gen. Hopefully it is single slot, and works with my current mobo. AGP is all I need.

AGP is dead dude. both nVidia and ATI have said that they will not make their G70 (nVidia) and their R520 (ATI) cores in an AGP format.

Not impressed. Nvidia must be breaking open the champaigne bottles right about now as it's obvious they have the 2005 product cycle all to themselves. Hard bein a ATI fanboi these days

Eh, yeah, well, I'm still one too - unless Nvidia just blows 'em away (highly doubtful) - ATI will get it going here in the next month or two...

Doubtfull the X1800 series will be less than stellar performers. I guess ATI had to start somewhere with Crossfire. keeping finger crossed
