And is Kelston a web page designer of some sort? Do share your technical expertise instead of using metaphors.
I also made my point about the page behaving less like and looking less like a rival company (i.e. nvidia)

It takes a webpage designer to do things like simple logic? Are you a webdesigner that purposely chooses to make more webpages than is necessary to accomplish a task? Is that why you have so little work you're arguing without valid points on a forum?
If 1 webpage works and provides the same amount of information to the end user, why split it into 3? The benefits of 1 is, faster, less server requests, less confusion.
The splitting of the driver pages also prevents directly linking a user to the driver download page complete with useful information like release notes. Instead the choice is either to navigate the new method or downloading the drivers without reading the release notes.
Many companies use menu selection systems that look the same as their rivals. McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, all of their menus are in lists separated into various categories. They aren't forcing you to ask the staff to orally recite the menu for you just to make their menu system different than their competitors. Why? Because it works. Because it is simple. And no one is going to another fast food restaurant simply because McDonald's menu looked too much like Burger King's.

I still dont understand why the complaints. If you can access the drivers what is the problem.
One extra page isnt going to blow your download quota for the month, and if you are too impatient as to not wanting to click your left mouse button one extra time, and wait a few extra seconds then perhaps you need to email ATI, show them a design you think should replace it and then if they ignore you because they think you are just impatient, lazy or whatever and cant understand that its not set in stone.
ATI will no doubt improve the page layout and design. Change is always necessary. You dont want to be sticking with the same look for too long. Granted it may be a slight step backwards however you have to go somewhere. If you stagnate, you will die. The fact that this new page design has caused some conflict is probably good. ATI or whomever does their web pages, can take a step back and make it better with some constructive feedback from their customers.
There are plenty of other places to get your drivers. Dont like it, go somewhere else. Get the drivers from Driverheaven, get them from CNET whatever.

Exactly.
You've yet to provide an adequate rebuttal against the extra page loading. As a webdesigner, just because you could, doesn't mean you should. Along your line of logic, ATi could just put a bunch of gay porn all over their driver pages because you can still get your drivers, the page will just take a little longer to load.

I agree, there wasnt anything wrong with the previous design, however that design has been around for a couple of years if i am not mistaken. Most websites undergo changes and different designs regardless of how well they might be doing or functioning. Have a look at Viaarena, just one example. Its about being different and not being faced with the same old pages. I mean they are just download pages but as the saying goes, A CHANGE IS AS GOOD AS A HOLIDAY.
Let's just hope that ATI can make it better for those that arent pleased with it.
