Xbox2, the only good console choice to make other than Nintendo. Sony sells junk and they always will.

Just saying "a PC is more powerful than any console so it's better" isn't a very good argument. Consoles are all about the games and not their power. Sure, you guys have super computers that can run anything, but you can't play Metroid, Zelda, Gran Turismo, etc on them.
Anyway, I chose ps3, though I'd eventually get the Nintendo console as well. But of course, I'll always have my PC around

Kind of a lame poll when you think about it. This website is for.............PC enthusiasts with powerful PC's for the most part...oh and ATI fanboys so the PC in the lead is no suprise.
Truth is console game sales kill PC game sales. 1 in every 10 PC games makes money. If you cant see the trend all ready open your eyes. More and more games are coming out for console first......then PC and then its a lame port most of the time. Ghost Recon II is great example.
Think about how easy it is to write a console game compared to a PC game....one set hardware PERIOD! One OS, one set of drivers! Testing on one platform, one OS, and one set of drivers for sound and video is so much more compressed time wise compared to the PC. After release support is probably 1/1000th compared to patch after patch for most PC games. If I was a game maker....no way would I write for PC's.
The only thing the PC has over the console is high res and the ability to use high end graphics. The next gen of consoles will even that up, and with more and more people getting wide screen HD tv's its even better......I also have a Grand Wega II 50inch LCD tv...looks good with Xbox HD games.
Xbox 360 for me.

I hear ya Lindy but don't forget the power of being able to modify your .ini files and have save points on the fly. Consoles are lacking in those departments. and I for one don't like to sacrifice the flexablity of being able to change my fov and other such fine tuning that the console games will never allow. I had to give up on Halo2 online due to the fact that the 60 fov was unplayable. Not to mention the low res textures. Face it.. once you get the high end PC equipment, seeing crapy console texture quality is hard to swallow, even if the game is AAA.

NINTENDO REVOLUTION
Instead of promoting high-end specs, Nintendo plans to introduce something completley different. Apparently they have something that will "change the way you play games."
They've been highly secretive about revealing info about the new system, except for one fact, and that it supports Computer monitors out-of-the box.

Kind of a lame post since the PS3 is winning and there are obviously MANY people here at DH that have consoles and plan to buy more. What difference does it make if people like ATI or Nvidia in this poll??
PS3 ------------------------ 495 ---- 28.88%
XBOX2 --------------------- 419 ---- 24.45%
Next Nintendo -------------- 328 ---- 19.14%
None-Gaming is for the PC -- 472 ---- 27.54%

Maybe consoles are better when it comes to quick action games, which they sell alot of and don't bother porting to PC, but the more serious games usually get ported and are much better on PC.
For example Morrowind, a huge open-ended RPG. The intertwining main quest and inumerable side quests led to alot of strange conflicts and bugs. These were all eventually found and patched for the PC, however XBOX players were poop out of luck. You're thinking that's what game testing is for, but this game is so monstrously large that it would have taken several months of testing. Console commands were also available to PC players to easily fix small annoying problems, or even cheat if desired. The XBOX version also had cheats, but very limited compared to PC. All sorts of user-created content, including new material, game enhancements and even an optimizer for the engine were made available only to PC players. And finally there's the resolution, a persuasive argument by itself.
Consoles are great for those linear, quick-fix gaming interludes, but for a serious gaming experience, give me a PC.

Not when I posted and not right now. Its all about money plain and simple. If the trend continues PC games will for the most part (not totally) fade away. Of course the "console" will almost become a PC some day.
I am sure the Xbox2 will basically be a game console plus most of the features of Windows XP media center edition....play DVD's, possibly surf the internet, record TV?????? The first version of the xbox does some of that now.
