I belive you. That said, of all the laptops sold, I would bet that 99% of them are NOT chosen for their video card. I bet things like price, size, battery life etc are way more important than gaming and video cards.
I am a manager of a IT department at a telco, and I had my choice of any Dell laptop I wanted....including the XPS. I chose a D600 because of its size and wieght. I wanted a gig of RAM to run virual PC on it for testing server OS's. I considered a 9100 at the time...right up until we got one in for a developer. I used it for a day.....and its battery life and size where just not for me.
I game, but on my home PC with a 6800GT and a 3.4E cpu....both of which would kill a laptop in terms of battery life and size.

I have an old Gateway with ATI Rage and Win Me....I can only do simple games... not capable enough

Those with inspiron 8600 and ati 9600 128...what settings do you guys run for games? any OCing? I run HL2, but kind of choppy sometimes
by the way, that's what i have.
