I actually am more excited about the upcoming Splinter Cell, as opposed to HL2.

"Yeah, it should be good"... I'm looking forward to it... but it's only a game so I'm not exactly wetting myself over it

With games approaching the surrealistic plateau, there isn't much that thrills me anymore. DOOM3, I'm willing to make an exception, that game is still catching me off guard (even with GOD mode enabled)
I never played the first or any in the series but I'm sure the next will be good, but I wouldn't say I'm going to change my pants because of it.

im with the should be good group. i think itll be good, but something just keeps nagging at me about the game sucking. i think partially its the crap shadowing in it... nothing like seeing a boxes shadow clip through a tables shadow.

i might get get it. I've never really liked CS, so CS 2 will be like eh. I never got into the waiting around after you die. I like to get back into the action right after i die like in MOHAA and UT 03/04.

Yeah, it should be good, and I am glad I won't have to pay for it when (If) it gets released.

That sh!t is the best, man. Clipping shadows gives it the nostalgia effect
There are a lot of pictures of that dude in that screenshot, just standing around. I sincerely hope those guys do more than look like sophisticated pylons.
Look a whole screen of them

i think it's totally over-rated like doom3 was, but we'll have to see. after delaying the release so many times, i hope to god it's worth playing. i haven't played a good rich-in-plot FPS since max payne 2, i hope hl2 can fill this void. as far as graphics go, i have not been very impressed at all with the screenshots.

i'm sorry kamel but Max payne 2 is not a FPS its a 3rd person shooter. Doesnt go in the category. Still i would really like to see more content story wise on FPS, this kill'em all crap is getting old.

eh, sorry. i consider a FPS and a TPS in the same category. i know they are different, but i consider mp2 and hitman to be fps's, even though they aren't.
maybe i should revoke my statement and say "i haven't played a good 'shooter' since mp2".
i also consider metal gear solid in the same category... didn't think it was just me, heh. sorry about the technicality though; i am well aware that mp2 is a tps, but i just call it a fps due to the fact i classify them as the same thing.
