Thats great to hear andrew.... I find it very cramped too I use a res of 1920x1080 resolution of my thumping great big screen and it still looks cramped and all squashed together. If the layout was sorted and things were evenly spaced out with nice fonts and themes it would be kick ass!!!

Like Andrew said, front page is still being worked out, and that feature will be back soon.

the headlines at the top of the DH page will be back once andrew has finished them. The upgrade isn't complete yet, but great work so far

It's cool but there are many things that need to be fixed- I'm guessing that will happen over time.
As it is right now it's pretty lame, the forums are wasting a lot of space on the sides, no themes, the front page is all messed up with no headlines etc.... But I'm sure when it all gets tweaked and streamlined it will be much better than before with all the new options..
It's only been a few hours, I imagine it takes time to fix all those little things.

yeah it is, but I think they mod it to the way they want it so it ends up being a custom thing-

The smilies aren't working for me either. Probably the same reason WYSIWYG isn't working. I'm not even going to bother with it until tomorrow. It's been a long day.

Guys guys guys ... think about the forums as a very first alpha of a game... the models are all crappy theres bugs and alot of stuff is missing... than the developers come and fix it all and make it perfect.
All of the old stuff will be returning guys its not like they ploped this on us and just left it as it is... they are working really hard to get the old stuff back

Damn it...My sig took up more than a screens length, that was scary...and now it's broke. I suppose wysiwyg will sort it when it's working again or is there different font sizing tags now?
OHHH smilies not working either...
Still, it'll get sorted I'm sure. - Good work there boys I can't wait to see the finished product.

For me, the 'popups' that give a bit of the content of the posts are darn annoying. Will we have/get the ability to turn those rascals off?
Other than that I'm happy with the change.

I hope everyone is aware that this is still a work in progress, there are alot of minor things to adjust as well the more important things like the front page which needs some major tweaking to get site news and quick links to the articles etc. we will be working on this today. Craig is also going to be porting the other themes over in the coming weeks.
not only is VB3 a major upgrade both on a security and aesthetic level but we needed to fix our quite poor previous install which had many broken options - these are all fixed.
Interesting to see who voted for the different responses though, a few surprises in there for sure.

Yeah I noticed some of those are about 4 inches across and 3 or more inches high on my 17" monitor, blocking a big portion of the screen- It would be cool if we could turn those off, I agree.
edit-
like this right? Is that what you mean?

Thats part of the VB3 upgrade package, im not sure if hacking it for a user preference is a viable option, we had so many hacks in the last install it caused more issues than it solved.
EDIT: I dont see what the big deal is anyway, you normally highlight something and then click it - those only popup after a short time ... if this irritates you then dont hover.
