probably closest to once a month for me...my school is really close to a cinema and ill usually go with friends whenever something big comes out etc transformers 2

I don't mind going to the movies,But it just depends on the type of film.

For me it has to be action pack to get all the sound effects at it's best..So im quite irregular to visit a cinama...Im lucky to go once in a year.

The last film i saw was valkyrie.

Highly irregular. Last couple of times I haven't been able to avoid thinking how bad the image quality is. I'm concerned about the excessive volume levels too.

I've been to three movies in the past year, I believe.

The audio and video quality at the local theatres isn't particularly good, so for the money, other social activities are better value.

I have gone down to about once a month since I have been so busy with work and the like. I used to go and see just about every film out there but I just don't have that much free time on my hands. Playing computer games in a dark room is just much more appealing to me these days

i think ive gone twice this year, and i dont think i went at all last year. wait.. i saw something at the 3 dollar theatre last year, cant remember what it was.

i cant justify spending 9.50 on a damn ticket, for a movie that barely lasts 90 mins, and most times its god awful. if i want popcorn and pop, i can add another 5-8 bucks just for that. then theres all teh fucktards who use their cell phone through the movie, or talk through it... or the one that used a fucking flash camera during the movie... or the kids crying.. or or or

its just not worth going unless i can get in for free.

Very irregular. I hadn't been to the cinema for ages (probably since "Mamma Mia"), but I saw "Angels and Demons" this week and I'm also going to see "Ice Age 3" and "Terminator" one of these days and then, most probably, back to cinema-dormancy.

I could easily go more often, but the thing is that there is rarely a film that I really want to see.

Who goes more than 3 times a week?

I go when there is something I want to see on the big screen, last one I went to was Drag Me to Hell - if it's something that I'll get just as much out of by watching the DVD I'll wait. Cinema is way too expensive to go regularly

I might go to 1 or 2 movies a year. I tend to just wait for the movie to hit DVD/Blu-Ray since they usually have extra content not shown in the theater.

In my opinion, with big-screen TV's and HD and home surround systems, theaters are basically obsolete. I don't have to tolerate noisy people or the screen being partially blocked by someone's head and can pause or back up the show if I have to go to the can or whatever. Besides, I don't appreciate being raped at the concession stand.

love blu-ray's with the extended unrated directors cut..

like Chronicles of Riddick on blu-ray was the way that movie should have orginally been showed in theaters.. not only does it make more sense.. but alot of the plot holes are filled in far better.

One thing i was pissed off about was my Terminator 2 blu-ray.... that is the orginal theatrical release..... where in the hell is my super extended version.. it's kickass compared.

Tickets have become too expensive. I still go quite a bit, but since AMC raised the price of the midnight showings to 10 dollars, instead of 5 (weekday tickets are always 5 bucks, and new releases are midnight on thur generally), its stiffled a lot of my business with them. We had a ritual where we'd see midnight showing, en masse, for the newest major movies. Now, because of the ticket prices, going to see a movie that might really suck isn't worth the price.

Not to mention that films, outside of imax, are still showed on film reals. The previews can be on a digital projector, but not the actual films. I'm supposed to pay 10 bucks a head to see a movie on completely obsolute technology? For 13 I can always get a 3 chip dlp IMAX showing, but 10 was already pushing it.

It's just not worth it.

Plus the 12 bucks a bag of popcorn etc gets old too. My theater has an unspoked rule that you can bring food in, which gets it close to being worth it. You can bring in an entire pizza and some two-liters, but thats its only saving grace.

tickets are one thing.... yes.. expensive as helll.... last time i went it was 12.75 per......

but it's the snack system.. your not allowed to bring in your own. but shit.... 10 bucks for a bloody handful of munchies is absurd..

Specially when i can go and grab bags of the same stuff that's usually better for as much as 1/8th the price.

I went into the city proper for the first time in months the other day, and the missus wanted me to go see Transformers...
fortunately I managed to persuade her to go tp a nice restaurant instead.

just shows though, start of the summer hols here, and there was sod all on that I wanted to go see. I will get dragged in to see speccy 4-eyed wizzard boy sometime soon though, the joys of kids (and fiancee)..

Last time I went to the cinema was, iirc, for the Cronicles of Riddick (which I watched 3 times).
Not again after that. So I voted never since it is already 5 years since the last time.
Reasons, way too expensive tickets and food, too noisy having to be lucky to catch either an almost empty screening or one where there are no idiots. Chances are against me.
As it is I rather wait for the release to watch from the comfort of my own place and paying even less (transportation+tickets+food) even if the price is not very low.

While the experience is not the same (I am no rich or have a home theatre), at least I can watch it in peace and eat anything I want.
