I say "give it a year..." - by then the price should have dropped, many of the bugs will have been squashed, and there will be better driver support. Then again it will take me at least that long to save up for the new system to run it on. (New Conroe proc, 4GB of DDR2, whatever the R600 turns out to be with the 1000W P/S to support it.... I think you get the picture.)

I'm gonna jump on and ride it like a wild man from the get go with whatever time I can! It's the best way to learn I think...

Keep in mind that it's still in development.
But, more to the point: You haven't provided here anything that will help anyone help you. How did you go about attempting the installation? Are you positive that the ISO you burned to DVD isn't corrupted? Did you try installing on a different computer?
You need to provide a lot more information, please.

Install tip:
Make sure any Floppy Disk controllers are disabled in bios if a drive is not connected.
took me a while to figure this one out...since 5600 i removed my floppy drive and could not even get the 5600 disk to boot.

No really, that's what I meant too, but I am gonna dig in and am excited about the fact that Microsoft is letting us try it for free until June of next year - nice way to get word of mouth going too. Looks like it's coming along...
About the 4 gig post - I'll let you know it seemed, for the short time I was running it before I deleted it, that it looked to run about the same as XP on my machine in the specs I have posted. At work, we've "standardized" on 2Gig as the spec for new machine purchases keeping Vista in mind - should be enough to do business with email, several browser windows, Java app, and .Net stuff running all at once. Specialized machines that process media should be the only ones needing more - and even then only to increase speed to a degree - it will work anyhow...

I like vista's design. Looks really impressive.
But I think I will move to Vista one year later after its official release .. Remember, when XP came in.. practically all games and apps was working horrible, or just not working

I dont know why people are going upgrade crazy for Vista. I just got RC1 and it runs fine for me, and I only have a p4 1.8, 1GB 2100 RAM, 9700pro AIW. In the performance tests from the OS i got a 4+ / 5 on everything but the processor which was rated at 2.8 . I know I am probably missing a few "pretty" features, but it runs alot better than I expected. I have an Audigy 2 ZS and i think the sounds quality is better then in XP right now. I have not tried any games yet, but installation of Vista, vid drivers, and sound drivers all went smooth. I am also dual booting it w/ XP and have not experienced any problems yet.
