Yeah the U.S. military Intel blew it.
Yes, we all know that the military intelligence had identified and tracked all the 9/11 terrorists years before the attack in New York, in fact the during the lame duck year of Clinton's administration a decision was made by the U.S. Army not to let the FBI see the evidence and plan a counterattack, is anyone shocked. A military lawyer pulled the plug on operation "Able Danger" and dissolved the only real mechanism for responding to world threats, all while the terrorists were planning attacks in Spain, and the U.S. I for one was not surprised but now the conspiracy people are running amok. There must be a conspiracy theory for every asshole out there in the media. It is humiliating to admit, but the Clinton regime still considered terrorists as criminals rather than world threats. I for one am pissed off, and one damn good reason I take a hard look at all the so called evidence that the media drags up, there is always a kernal of truth to it.

Interesting..... well i can see the liberals are going to hate me on this. First, of all the Clinton administration knew about terrorism for a long time and never took action. Lets roll back to 1993 the World Trade Center bombing that people have forgotten. Did anything happen there, not really just an arrest of a blind shiek and 4 of his followers. Then came to this 1996 timeframe of this "AbleDanger", which was in file after the Kenya Embassy Bombings and surprising that our military intellience new the dangers. But with the Clinton administration they can barely put 1+1 together. And the ony reason why Clinton threw some Tomahawk missles in Sudan and Afganistan was to get the sex scandal our of the new for a short time. Did you know that Clinton was offer Usama by Sudan in 1996, but refused because Janet Reno could build a criminal case against him. And lets not for get the USS Cole Bombing in Dec 2000 when Clinton knew who did it, refuse to take action. Finally came to 9/11 where 3,000+ Americans were killed to where we finally decided to take action. As this "Able Danger" back in 1996 they did not take it as creditable information, now 5 years (2001) later i hope they now realize how creditable it is.

As a member of the military at the time, we had utter contempt for Clinton , and I still do, he was ultimately responsible for throwing the intelligience community back a few years by throttling everything we did.

What sickens me is that this sort of thing has been going on for years...my God Pearl Harbor was predicted and reported to the president long before it happened and yet it did..now that gives conspiracy nuts a real meal as far as I am concerned.

I think your post heading should have been "The Clinton administration blew it".
Due to policys of the Clinton administration, the Able Danger information WAS NOT ALLOWED to be shared with the FBI.
How could you claim that the military 'blew it' when they had the info? It's not their fault that the 'Commander in Cheif' was more interested in "getting his willie wet" than in our national security. Put the blame on the people that deserve it.

Apparently, the army lawyers refused to allow Able Danger and the information it generated from getting to the FBI or other agencies. The leader or principal actors in the unit has come forward.

What gets me Mike, is that the military lawyers didnt want anyone to know that the information was obtained my monitoring these people while they were in the United States, wiretapping and cell phone monitoring, think of the lives they could have saved if they were allowed just report this to the FBI?

May have fried a lot of people up top. Saving lives comes next to making money or keeping their job (and the power that comes with it) for most our officials, and that is pretty much unavoidable.
