Hate it or Love it
I was just curious how many people hate the USA and how many love it.
Post the reason of your choice.
I love it because I have learned to appriciate the generations of soldiers before my family and the sacrifice they have given for their country.

I voted hate it, but what I really meant was the people. This country has been sculpted into a great place over centuries, but all you see these days are retard clones of Bush and the people who voted for him.

thats not very nice to call me a thread whore, I am only on at like one time of the day, that is when I post usually, maybe twice a day if I'm not doin anything. All I do is try to do as much as I can when I can. But I don't think I'm a whore.

Why does there need to be such a stark choice? I love America - and I like a great many Americans - but I do not like at all the poisonous self serving and destructive ideology that gave birth to the Bush regime - and all of the excesses that this has led to. Why can't we just love it a little, hate it a little - but still be mostly (if benevolently) indifferent? I don't think even most Americans would be happy with just those two choices. Particularly since tied up in that question there appears to be an assumption (or a feeling) that you need to be a Mid Western Neo Christian conservative zealot in order to 'truly love America.'

Isn't that just a nice little bigoted remark.

Really, in what sense? I think the comment was expressing an extreme distate for biggots. But then again, I guess it depends very much what you define to be a biggot.
I can clearly see that your opinion in this regard is very different from mine.

It actually is as simple which you choose. Either you Hate or Love it. There is no middle ground. This is not about politics and what you may think of the president, this is about the country.

Well that is a typical black and white conservative response. You are either all good or all bad, all in or all out, all right or all wrong.
Life though unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your perspective) is made up of a lot more colours than just black and white.
So I'm happy to say that I still reserve my right to say none of the above. There are bits I love and bits I hate - hard as this might seem for you to grasp.

I neither hate nor love the US. I don't hate any countries, but the US as a whole certainly ranks higher than many others on my list.

IF you see a grey area then you will always have doubt in your decisions and never be able to follow anything through with full potential. The strongest arguements are made from the extreme sides ( and also the dumbest ones).

Finally you got it! It seems to me people who aren't very bright are simply not physically an mentally capable of seeing anything but extremes. But the real world isn't like that. There are many opinions - and many different perspectives - and really no one perspective is probably any more right than anyone else's. You have to deal with this and accept we live in a world where there are too many different opinions for any one person to be right - or you will indeed risk appearing as though you are an ignorant, arrogant and uniformed extremist.
But then again, as I said I think there are people in this world who are just incapable of seeing all of the different levels between each extreme - their brains just aren't wired in a way that would enable them to comprehend this. So it really is probably quite impossible to try to argue with them to try to get them to look at the bigger picture - because no matter what you do they are simply not able to see it.

In any case it's not doubt. I don't doubt what I do or don't like, or what I do or don't believe in. I just think there are many more ways to look at the world (and not just America) than in simple terms of love and hate. In the whole scheme of things, these terms are just not very meaningful.
