Saddam trial - silenced!
http://news.independent.co.uk/world/...p?story=646753
Now I thought I seen all from US occupants in Iraq.
However silenced defence, now this is something I did not expected in wildest dreams
In around 1950, there was such similar "trials" with the "enemies of state and people" and they are usually confessing themselves (exactly like in Orwell 1984, believe it or not, I did not care, published at about 1956 (IIRC) ) of terrible crimes they commited and asking for harsh sentences.
And yep, they got it.
Usualy, they are tortured as long, as it was need to make them such puppets.
Saddam, seems, can't be forced by torture (no Abu Ghraib or Guatanamo threatment yet...) to confes like these. He is too watched prisoner, so they silenced him this way.
Now, since the right of fair trial is one of the basic and most important rights of any human, I can't call this other that OUTRAGEOUS

Saddam interrogation screened - in silence. The question is: Why?
By Robert Fisk
14 June 2005
There he was, just as his victims looked on his own television screens, his words censored, his arguments unknown, his case as undemocratic as the "judicial" courts in which Saddam destroyed his own enemies.

Don't get too personal, and don't call him a boy. He's a man. I'm a boy

Violat3, do you even know what a fascist government is? The U.S. is a democracy and our government in no way models one. Here is the definition of a fascism, since you seem quite confused: - often Fascism
- A system of government marked by centralization of authority under a dictator, stringent socioeconomic controls, suppression of the opposition through terror and censorship, and typically a policy of belligerent nationalism and racism.
- A political philosophy or movement based on or advocating such a system of government.
- Oppressive, dictatorial control.
-------taken from dictionary.com-----------
The only reason for making it silent that pops out is for punishment. They are using the same laws and rules that Saddam had for his own people. Or quite possibly maybe the tape if uncensored threatened national security. Those are two obvious reasons. I think it actually suits him. Yes, he is a human being, but you are also accountable for what you have done and should be punished. You might think it outrageous but then again, I am sure you want him to go free or are against the whole war in the first place.
