Thumbs Up! The President's Problems

After his election victory, President Bush said he had earned political capital and he planned to spend it. But six months into his second term, that capital appears to be all but gone.

In a CBS News/New York Times poll out Thursday, more than half the public disapproves of the job he's doing. And it gets worse from there:

Only 39 percent approve of his handling of the economy.

Only 39 percent approve of his handling of foreign policy.

Only 37 percent approve of his handling of the war in Iraq.

Only 25 percent approve of his handling of Social Security.

Only the campaign against terrorism gets the approval of more than half those questioned.

The biggest drop off is among Americans aged 30 to 44. In just the past month, his approval rating in that group has fallen 14 points.

In the most serious split over the president's Iraq policy, two Republican House members joined with Democrats Thursday urging President Bush to start bringing U.S. troops home from Iraq in October of 2006.

"After 1,700 deaths, over 12,000 wounded and $200 billion spent, we believe it is time to have this debate and this discussion on this resolution," said Rep. Walter Jones, R-N.C.

My fingers are crossed for Bruce Willis running the seat.

With his Die Hard perspective on life, I'm sure we will be rid of those filthy back stabbing Muslims, oh and Taliban type clans too.

Sorry to say this, but Arnold already has a head start. He'll be running if he gets that annoying little detail in the constitution sorted out. And I'm sure the terminator wouldn't stop at Muslims, he'd proclaim himself king of the world in no time and start 'purifying' the human race... Thank god I'm tall and blonde, I might pass his criteria.

You believe polls? They also said that Kerry was ahead by a bunch in the exit polls, real accurate there.

American's are stupid right, we know nothing about what going on in the world right, how can you even believe what the polls say?

And 'telemarketing' polls are really not accurate.

Of course those results have nothing to do with the liberal bias of the press and those polls. [zi0n]aXe we know you hate Bush, but if you are going to undermine our president, at least have credible information. There are lies, damned lies, and then statistics - Samuel Longhorn Clemens -. Of course I doubt you know who that is since you don't seem to be very well educated. Also if you analyze those statistics they are actually pretty darn good. That is about a 40% approval rating. That doesn't mean 60% are against Bush. As I know you are interpreting that as. There are still undecided and don't care options. Again I would like to stress that this poll is from CBS and The Times, bot of which have a huge liberal slant. But of course you knew that since you seem to be so involved in American politics. Gosh, I am so glad you are here to inform me about my president. I don't know what I would do without you. Wait, no I do know what I would do. I would actually have a mind of my own, rather than one that is owned by the liberal media of the U.S. All I see from your posts is someone that is enslaved by our media. I don't think there has been one thing you haven't believed from them. Maybe they are your god. You sure put a lot of faith in them. You also believe them blindly. You should really start your own religion.
