No, but my candidate for president was in Viet Nam. He volunteered. Twice.
My last candidate also volunteered, even though he could have used his family's influence to avoid service.
My president, vice president, defense secretary, and "homeland security" chief all got out of it, one way or another.
Tasteless? Kiss my ass.

Prove each other wrong all you want, but don't start with the namecalling; we're mostly intelligent enough here to avoid that.

Kerry's difference between Vietnam and Iraq? He doesn't see one - we're going to loose in Iraq.

The US had like 60 times as many casualties in Vietnam as weve had in Iraq so far. Then again there was a draft HAHA.
And we didn't loose the Vietnam War, it ended in a truce. LOL Kissinger got a Nobel Peace Prize, how ironic. Well, they reinvaded like within a year and we obvisouly didn't go back in but hey!
And then China invaded Vietnam and got their ass whooped (they left all their good military defending the Soviet border)
Yawn. Ramble-ish-a-ness

Btw:
When is setting up their government and hold elections so officials are in power that their people want. Training their troops police and then pull out our troops from their current deployments except for a small supplemental piece keeping forces until their no longer needed.
Bush has a plan… Duh
Kerry has a plan, it’s? Well no details exist but it's out there some were with santa clause and the tooth fairy. He'd hate to give details and face securitization. Well he’d have to actaully have a plan first . Other then Cut and run full with drawl, toss the baton to the Corrupt UN and say here fix it..

I totally agree with that! - In Nam, we were fighting a guerilla war against an invisible enemy, and our troops often couldn't distinguish friend from foe until it was too late.
- In Nam, the population hated and feared us, and as a result we were never able to effectively gather intel.
- In Nam, the "enemy" in the north posed absolutely no actual security risk to the United States.
- In Nam, the government was dishonest with us about the reasons for entering the conflict.
- In Nam, the United States bore the brunt of the cost compared to other nations, particularly the human cost.
We are surely fortunate none of these circumstances are present in Iraq.

lol Rasta
However during Vietnam I would say the government was in fact being honest about going to war to prevent the spread of communism and said so many times unless you think there was another hidden reason for going to war in Vietnam that I'm not thinking of at the moment
I definately think its not just like Vietnam, and Neon Cowboy my previous statement you quoted was supporting you by showing how little casualties we have suffered contrasted to those in Vietnam and that there is no a draft. Things can always get worse however.
I agree this war is not like Vietnam because of many factors, but I don't think its save to dismiss comparisons without examination.

if ur refferring to the Tonkin Bay fake torpedo boat attack announced by LBJ I already know about that and I supposse it counts but we were already in Vietnam before then. Also the overall reason was still to stop the spread of communism, and LBJ has said like exactly that in radio speeches. By yeah I suppose he lied about that ship getting hit by the north vietnamese torpedo boat as justification that NV had deliberately attacked the US.
