Will the cowboy get the Arab ??
Was just wondering..will Bush finally wack Saddam or not ? what's your opinion on it ? will he ? should he ? what happened to all the big talk of destroying terrorism and attacking every country that helps terrorists ?
I'm not all that pro-america..but the way i figure..if you have ants in your kitchen and you can't keep um out..just destroy the ants nest.
So what's keeping bush and his anti-ant teams ?? Blair (uk) seems happy to help.

It appears that our congress, including members of the President's own party are a bit torn on what to do. I think he would like and would be wise to have approval from all parties, but with most things congress and most Americans in general have a short memory. As soon as something happens bad enough to stir the hornet nest a bit, Mr Bush will have all the approval he needs. As far as my personal opinion, I am a D. Shield/D. Storm veteran which wishes we would have finished what we started in the first place and maybe, just maybe none of this crap would have even happened. Toast him, I say, the quicker the better.

With you there..didn't understand at the time why they didn't push on and kicked saddam out while they were at it..
Let's just hope they won't wait to long and some country doesn't have to be nuked by Saddam before they act.

We stopped because that is what the UN mandated. The allies were to only liberate Kuwait, not actually overthrow Sodamn Insane. The poor bastards that were fighting on the Iraqi side don't even like Saddam. I worked in a Combat Support Hospital, much like the MASH unit represented on the show here in the states. We got in *hundreds* of wounded Iraqi soldiers and civs during the ground war. We were set up somewhere inside of Iraq and it was my job to meet the incoming patients at the choppers and assist in paperwork and gathering ordinance off, which was supposed to be done in the first place but sometimes things slip through. One older guy was trasported off the chopper with minor injuries and spoke fairly good english. He looked at us and said, Saudi Arabia? We told him no and he stamped his feet, cursed out loud and with his hands made a slashing movement across his neck and said, kill Saddam Hussien, kill Saddam Hussien. At first the MP's thought he was threatening me and they all raised their weapons as if to fire. He looked very scared and said, I hate Saddam Hussien. I guess he was wishing he was in S. Arabia so he could ask for exile from Iraq. Don't know what ever happened to the guy and if he made it or had to go back. He was more then likely killed if he was released back to the Iraqi govt, or at least that is what we were told would probably happen to all of the EPOWs the allies captured.

Must have been tough seeing al that....It's always difficult to see an individual instead of "the enemy".
Mosty likely if you've met the same man in his squad armed and all he wouldn't have hesitated to shoot you...strange the way people work in groups.
Most people in Iraq probably would like it when Saddam is gone and if they finally get a free country..trick is not only to get Saddam out but only to prevent a next dictator from stepping up..that will take years of peacekeeping forces to secure democracy in a land like Iraq.
Than again it's better to spend years and millions on liberating countries than it is to spend millions on rebuilding after a terrorist attack.
I just heard on the news that my country is now officially the first of the E.U. countries to support an attack on Iraq. UK will follow shortly i guess so the support for an attack from Europe is growing.

No doubt that he would have not hesitaited and shot if he had a chance and roles were reversed. It's going to be quite a job to actually knock Saddam out of his position short of a black ops invasion, I think. He seems to have a very tight security net around him of servants who are either too scared to speak out against and not do his wishes or just plain brainwashed into thinking he is right. Kind of surprised to hear that another EU country other then UK is jumping on and supporting an attack on Iraq. Makes you wonder if all that talk on the nightly news is true about him being close to having a functional nuke.

I hear it's not going to be before November/December if groundforces will be sent..Saddam is going to use chemical weapons and before November it's too damn hot in Iraq to be fighting in protective gear. oh well that gives Bush time to convince those idiot French..the Germans will have elections soon, one is for one is against attacks..so just have to wait and see what will happen there.

When I got off the plane in Daharan in October of 1990 it was 127 F!! You could feel the heat belching through the plane as we desended. We trained for about two weeks in these temps with all of our equipment on to aclimate (I know i spelled that wrong) and adjust. I drank alot of water and lost about 20 pounds during that time. I feel for those guys going there now.

The French have a long and distinguished history of supporting terrorism. I don't see why they'd stop now.

In 1986, the US --with the UK-- launched Operation El Dorado Canyon, an air campaign against terrorist targets in Libya. France denied the US use of its airspace, forcing our fleet of twenty-one F-111 Aardvarks to take a wasteful 2700 mile detour through the Straights of Gibraltar.
And what about France's extensitve trade links with Sudan, Syria, Iraq, and Libya?
Khomeini, a name synonymous with terrorism, found refuge in France when he was exiled from Iran. When the shah was overthrown, Khomeini returned and turned the country of Iran into a terror-based extremist nation.
Okay, so maybe I have exaggerated a little in saying they had a "long and distinguished" history of supporting terrorism. But they've done it.
