Well it's progress. It may not be the complete answer that either side wanted, but it is some progress in the right direction.
I don't think anyone is very happy with the idea of the military tribunals that were proposed. I know
Tony Blair certainly wasn't happy with the idea of British citizens being tried in them, as he didn't think they could possibly meet established standards of international justice.
Is this the end of the road? Or is there some hope for further clarification at a later date?
I guess if these guys get their day in court, they could challenge the governments right to detain them indefinitely, which would impact on all the other detainees too.
