Things to be wary (and weary) of when debating...

You know, that Hitler and his Nazis often would post things like this on walls and telephone poles.

Strawmanning is, in my experience, the most common argumentative fallacy.

I think arguing politics with people to score personal points is a mistake.
I may not always be 100% the most rational person here (but then neither is anyone I think). I tend to take the stance that if you kick me I'll kick back.
But utimately if it is possible to leave personal feelings out of debate, the debate always tends to benefit a great deal for it.

I think leaving personal feelings at home is the best way, I enjoy RAID517 and Bluelight, but I would rarely agree with them, it is the stimulus of change, the catalyst of understanding, the kernel of enlightenment to admit that we all do not see things the same way, as surely as there are snowflakes in the sky, we see different sides of every story, even in our own households, I can ask my son and daughter there opnions about any issue and get a different response worthy of discussion, but not agreement...lol

well...agreement isnt necessarily good. how can you discuss something you both see the same way? "i think da da blah", "I agree", end of conversation!
