Neon,
No one was saying that the electoral college selects the candidates. What was being said was that the candidates would only have to work the highly populated areas to win election if there weren't the electoral college.
I, for one, don't want the elected officials being determined by only a few regions like New England, California, and such. With the EC, it's a truly national election.

If you own a buiness you have to pay a lot more taxes. Because you have to pay for all of social security and welfare. Once you are a big business you have to pay a 30% business tax so all and all you pay mor money. Yes they do get more tax breaks but they still end up paying more. The richest 10% of the population pay 60% of the us taxes and the poorest 40% pay 8% of the taxes.

Does the public always know what is best for them? Look if you hurt big business what is going to happen they are going to fire people!!! or cut pay, benefits, etc... Big business has rights to so I do not see your point. Jsut because the media only shows one side to the story does not mean there is not another.

That is social security everyother tax you pay on every cent you make.
How can the big business afford it? Have you ever looked at the budgets of these companies many of them not all are not breaking even and end up going bankrupt that is a lot of jobs down the drain. So just cause a few are doing really well does not mean they all are.

who pays what
The top 1%, who earn 20.81% of all income covered under the income
tax, are paying 37.42% of the federal tax bite.
Top 5% - 56.47% of all income taxes; Top 10% - 67.33% of all income
taxes; Top 25% - 84.01% of all income taxes. Top 50% - 96.09% of all
income taxes. The bottom 50%? They pay a paltry 3.91% of all income
taxes. The top 1% is paying more than ten times the federal income
taxes than the bottom 1%! And who earns what? The top 1% earns
20.81% of all income. The top 5% earns 35.30% of the pie. The top
10% earns 46.01%; the top 25% earns 67.15%, and the top 50% earns
87.01% of all the income.
The very largest tax cut of 33% goes to the lowest-wage workers in the newlycreated 10% tax bracket. However, the smallest tax cut of 7.4% goes to single-filers with a taxable income of $27,050. For couples filing
jointly, the smallest tax cut is 8.8% for taxable incomes of $45,200.
The tax cut then rises gradually to 15.5% for single-filers at
$136,750 and 14.0% for joint-filers at $166,500.
Lol them guys pay tons of taxes. Dont use the guys who worked there ass off to get where there at as an excuse. source

It's interesting that North Korea has now invited a US delegation to view their nuclear site.
Hopefully, this is the beginning of something good.

a nuclear conflict could undermine efforts to reinforce ties with both china's. N. Korea has successfully used stalemate for years, this is no exception.

I am talking about something that I could not possibly know so do not take this to serious. Kim what ever his name is? in North Korea would never drop a nuke because he likes his power too much he is not going to take the chance of us taking him out. Call his bluff I say he can sit there and cry all he wants.

I think that's BS too, and a big mistake. I don't know what he's thinking there. I still think all the other chuck-heads running are not presidential material at all, but that's what the Dem's want so that Hillary <---(anti-christ?) can run in 08'. Why else do you think she and Gore are endorsing that wishy washy Dean?
I voted for both Bush 41 and 43 and am overall pretty happy with their performance, but GW is letting some solcial issues slide that I don't agree with. I think his foreign policy is what we need at this time though, we need a strong voice in the world now, whether it's popular with the rest of the world or not. Imagine if he kowtowed to the UN like the Democrats want to do- Saddam would still be in power, taxes would be much higher and who knows what would have happened after 9/11. I'd bet any amount of money that GW will in-fact be re-elected, and I don't think it will even be close, look at the competition, there just isn't any.
Oh, tax cuts for the rich are a good thing, as well as tax cuts for the middle class- the poor don't pay any taxes anyway. The rich guys are the people who own businesses and hire people for jobs and give them benefits if they can afford it. More taxes for the rich, the less jobs there, the more middle class are unemployed and collect unemployment- are and the economy tanks. The less taxes for them, the more jobs there are, and the economy grows and the government gets more revenue through expansion and growth of the tax base. It is proven by the trend in the last year and it will only get better with less taxes. This country got where it is by low taxes and a steady growing economy- more taxes for anybody, poor, middle class OR rich always stifles growth. We are fortunate enough to live in a capitalist society that is actually very effective- I kinda would like it to stay that way, the liberal democrats would rather turn us into a socialist welfare state where everyone pays 60% tax and has to depend on the bloated broken government for everything. They already have to certain extent. Go to any government office like the lazy DMV, or incredibly inefficient post office. I think we all know how well that system works-
ok, end rant

I think the plan is good, for opening up aliens in the US but allowing people to cross i dont agree with that. We need to uncover the aliens, 14 billion dollars go back to mexico from mexican workers in American. Thats just money going back... now think of taxes... We could use these citizens taxed.
