Looks like someone learned a little bit from Hitler. Not the one they should have. Raiding offices at a University? This is the last straw. And whats next? Internment camps!!!!!!!???????

Quite frankly i am tired of Israeli foreign policy. How would you like it if Canada came in an shut down New York eh? Thats just plain stupid! But it is exactly what is going on with Israel. Not to mention the fact that Raiding a public university is just wrong!!! The whole situation with Israel has been severely screwed up, particurlarly because of American intervention. Even Britain had the common sense to put its foot down when Isreal began its undemocratic practices in the 1960's and 70's ... but America (god i hate this part) single handedly upheld and gave power to Israel. Israel is now abusing its power horribly. What do we do now?

Can we keep this thread a legitimate discussion without needing it being moved to the flamezone please....)

I'd like to see you back that up. And quite frankly i'm tired of Imperialism in general. This is what long arm policies have brought us. http://www.greenleft.org.au/back/2001/465/465p15.htm You gotta learn something: if you choose to get involved in another nations business you better be prepared for the long haul. Case in point: Vietnam... what did America do? Nothing. What could have been done? Everything. America's involvement in the middle east first created Israel, then the palestine situation and then further generated and supported terrorism and terrorists. These terrorists have now turned on the U.S. Aint that a shame?

I duno why, but the world, for some reason, likes to ignore Israel's ethnic cleansing and always concentrate on the wrongs of the Palestinians. here's another story: Two innocent civilians (father and son) were at the wrong place and the wrong time. The Israeli soldiers were shooting. The father told them to spare his son and shoot him instead (keep in mind he's just an innocent civilian). The Israeli soldier, intrigued, decided to shoot the son first so that the father would see his son die, and then the soldier shot the father. ![]()

![]() I wanna round off my previous statments: neither the Israelites nor the Palestinians are inherently bad, evil or wrong in any way. There are those, however, that feel hatred for one another. I doubt that these people will ever stop fighting and i am truly sad for that fact. I do believe, however, that the political strife in the Middle East has been caused, in large part by all facets of America's participation in the Middle East. I only hope that both the Israelites and the Palestinians don't figure that out. If they do, i am going to pray ... and i am going to run.

I wouldn't call it ethnic cleansing. If there were constant terrorist attacks against your country, wouldn't you want to do something about it? Attacks of terrorism occur quite frequently in Israel and it seems that they want to do something about it. If most of the attacks originate from the followers of Arafat, wouldn't you want to shut down their eduactional institutions and businesses? By doing so, it could help cut down on the funds and support they can raise in order to promote acts of terrorism. Israel isn't doing this because they hate the Palestinians, they are doing this because they Palestinians hate them.
That's my two cents.

So the Palestinians should blame Israel for being given their land back by another country? They should "retaliate" against Israel because some of the wise leadership in North America decided to give them their land back without asking anybody? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Israel had much to do with taking half of their land in the first place. I can see why they would want to remove the mosques, it's their land now and they can pretty much do anything to the mosques that they want. Not that I necessarily agree with that, but that's how it is.

Everyone lived there, you cant give someone BACK land that doesn't belong to them If the Israelites wanted to live in Palestine, they could. Its that simple. If i wanna go to Washington D.C. I dont ask them to make it into my own private country. The part about "Giving" Israel to the Israelites is what got this whole thing going.

I meant the institution of the country known as Israel. The nation of Israel was formed in 1949 (or something like that, I hate dates). You could say the land was given to the Jews since they are the government of the land now (well, at least that's what most countries recognize as the government). I'm probably not making any sense now and I intend to keep it that way.

Did I say it was right? No. Don't make assumptions. That is what happened. I never said it was good, I just said that if I was in the same situation, I wouldn't argue with it. Now that the land pretty much belongs to them, they are going to do whatever it takes to make sure it stays that way, whether the Palestinians like it or not. I never said it was right, I feel that is just the way it is.

I have to agree that they are being quite violent, but they have a right to their land... (but I don't like the way they're going about expressing it...

.... Also, I hate it how people make Israel to look like its the greatest bunch of little angels on the planet. That's all, I'm not saying that what Hamas does is right... I don't agree with it and I don't have respect for Hamas... but it IS all because of the Israeli occupation that it was formed and became the way it is.... How do you expect them to fight when all they have are sticks and stones? If they tried to have a proper war, America would, in some way, block all their resources and give Israel tons of money.....if you ask me, I think they should take a good look at Ghandi and the way he helped India. That's their best option right now imo.

No, no, no, no, NO! I don't care how upset you are, terrorist bombings are never right. Not in retaliation, not for freedom -- never. So long as the Palestinians continue to blow up buses and night-clubs full of civilians, they will never have international sympathy or legitimacy as a movement. They are not freedom fighters. Arafat said he would take care of Hamas. When? |
