What the hell does America want with Pakistan, other than "fighting alqaeda"
Whats your opinion on the matter?

They have nuclear capability, American government thinks the terrorists could too easily get their hands on........ (or so they say in the media)

So we blast the country to bits, and send them billions in aid at the same time.......

Crack open the history books guys. Just saying that Pakistan is America's ally because of the war on terrorism and nuclear capability glosses over the historical facts.
You have to go a bit further back into the formation Pakistan, independence and the transtional governments that have existed up till most recently.
A pro western and democratic government in that region is of tremendous value to the U.S. to say the least, but Pakistan has always maintained a counter stance to India.

Pakistan is not the problem on its own. If the fascist so called extremist parts of islam get a bigger foothold in the country, then it doesn't matter how good Pakistan has been or the will of its government. From the outside, it looks like there is a lack of will from at least parts of the Pakistani people and military to fight those parts. What they might not understand is that you can't reason with these people. It's like trying to reason with Hitler, they will ALWAYS try to backstab you.
If the Afghan and Pakistan population doesn't decide to fight these people, then their countries will be lost for who knows how many years.
Pakistan is not unique in this condition, it's not the first country or the last that will suffer from these people. The only immediate threat to non Pakistani is the nuclear weapons there. I do not trust them with them.
The only saving grace of the whole situation is the very large population of the country that can act as a airbag to slow things down a bit.
Muslims need to wake up and not let their countries got to waste from these garbage in disguise.

The FAC is the WAR doesn't make sense especially if it's about 911 BECAUSE the DON'T know for sure who it was that crashed those planes. Sure the have suspects, but NO HARD PROOF.

there was proof and i understand why we are there but i didnt agree with the iraq war that was over oil...

I suggest you guys interested in middle-east read the book from Rob Bear (former CIA Agent)

The Devil We Know

it gives great insight into the middle-east/US relationship. Highly recommended to look behind the scenes.

I've lost complete faith in CNN, BBC and the like. I simply dont watch them, less I want to hear what lies and misdirection they have decided to spew out.
I'm inclined to agree with Falstaff whenever I hear rhetoric of alqaeda and terrorsist what I really hear is "we want geographical and financial control over this region".
Terrorists are not major threat, cancer is a greater threat than terrorsism more money should be spent on americas healthcare than on a dodgy war.
