Stocking up
I read somewhere that Gun sales in America is up about 60%. Seems like everyone is getting scared and prepared. Most for home security.
Pretty much anything could happen now from riots if anything happens to Obama (especially in So Cal), to a depression (fighting for food), and even a civil war if things get bad enough.
I know some of that may sound far fetched but it really could happen. I don't plan to be in fairy tale land when it does.
My preperations:
-Going to buy some land up in the mountains somewhere (near steady supply of water) eventually and make an emergency shelter.
-Stocking up on ammunition (only increases in value anyway)
-Grains and rice (same as ammo)
If things go to sh*t money is first thing to lose its value.
Is anyone else preparing or do you just think I'm a crazy bastard?
Either way I rather be safe then with my pants down when the bombs start dropping.

yes & yes.
Just before the election I picked up a new saiga 12ga, though not because I’m afraid of BO’s reign marking the end of civilization. I'd wanted one for a while (who doesn’t like the notion of a 12ga, semi-auto, detachable mag fed, shottie, built on the AK47 platform – 12 rnds of 00 buck is a wonderful thing!!), the price was right and the timing was excellent. I'm not too worried that anything really crazy is going to happen nation wide. Maybe, if something horrible happened to our pres elect, then riots & what not might occur in major cities - LA, NY, Atlanta ect but I can’t see anything more than that coming. I do think if he does the things he wants to do that our economy is headed for the worst recession & very likely a depression that will cripple us for decades. L
As far as guns go the worst I’m afraid of is a major increase in the price of ammo – this has already happened but it’s mostly because nearly all gun owners are afraid of BO so there has basically been a run on the ammo market so that has driven prices up. He’s also probably going to try & come up with some kind of anti gun legislation to limit or restrict the models of firearms available for purchase. Get your combat rifles & hi cap mags now boys & girls for BO WILL be doing away with them in the next 4 years…
I live on 7 acres several miles outside of a medium size town in Georgia. I'm on a well. I've got more guns and ammo than the average person and plenty of friends in the same boat. As much as I would like to see a complete "reset" of our federal government (at this point I think about all of them are crooks & so far out of touch with where I believe the country should be going about the only real option to fix it inside of 20 years is to just boot them all, set a few new rules in regard to how Congress should work, and then put some new guys in place) I don't imagine that it will ever happen. Certainly not in my lifetime. The world is too big & too complicated and people, particularly Americans, are too lazy at this point in time.

Re: Stocking up
we've been preparing in various ways, although nothing to extensive for the last few years here.....
We are already in the middle of nowhere... so it's not like we have to worry all that much..... the only thing we'll have to worry about is the cities emptying of people and then people rushing out to this area with who knows what intentions or desperations.
