Democrats in Texas Walk Out

In a move that shows how irrelevant the Democratic Party has become, 51 House Democrats in the state of Texas have walked out and put themselves in "self-exile" in the state of Oklahoma. Why, you ask? Because they are so upset over the vote to redistrict.

Leftist extremists hail the move as sticking it to the junta/fascist/hard-line/illegitimate administration.

Give me a break. Firstly, these Texan Democrats violated the law in doing what they're doing; it is illegal to willfully prevent a legislative quorum, which is what they are doing. Secondly, as much as I feel for these poor souls, Democrats are not the only ones to suffer from gerrymandering; it is a bipartisan practice. I may not agree with it, but for now, it is here to stay, and if Dems were in control of the Texas legislature, they'd do the same thing.

Cry me a river, guys.

Gerrymandering is a good thing to protest, but to break the law and to do it in a such a childish way? Believe me, if the Republicans had done this, I'd be ashamed; for the Democrats I only feel sadness.

Admittedly, Texan Democrats are more conservative than, say, New Yorker Dems.

I couldn't believe that so called professional people would act in such a manner.
I got a good laugh out of it though.

Actually, I don't think the Texas House requires a supermajority (which you're referring to) to approve redistricting. The reason the Dems bolted was to prevent a quorum -- which is not only illegal in Texas, but really, really dumb.
