It's only a matter of time though
It was the original thrust of the coalition incursion and overthrow of the Hussien regime, he had used the poisen gas, but it is gone, we found the canisters and the equipment to clean the remnants of the gas, but no gas to be found as of yet. The missles are being destroyed now, and the launch delivery vehicles. I radioactive components of a reactor and presumably some spent fuel rods were found along with other radiological equipment that was pretty hot, underneath a building that had already been inspected my the U.N. so it is possible that more exists in the western desert, my theory for what it's worth, is that Saddam intended to flee, has fled if you will, and destroying these WMD or concealing them was a requirement for asylum...for all we know he could well be on the mountian side with Bin Laden, or worse yet...dressed as a woman in France..(little joke)....
I wouldn't defend lies,if I could prove or disprove statements, but I am not in a postion to do that...I will tell you this blue, when we retrieved a downed helicopter crew during the first gulf war, our 16 rounds and artillery had set off an underground cache of ammunition and IRAQI artillery shells, when the stuff burned off and exploded, the crew of the helicopter has been exposed to the burning gasses and smoke..before we brought them onboard, we pulled all their uniforms off, and treated them for skin burns and inhalation..when the gear was tested at the battalion aid station, it tested postive for mustard gas, and for chemicals used to make it persistent in high heat, all of us took pyristigmine injection in case of nerve gas exposure, those that didn't seemed to be reacting to a nerve agent.
.Unfortunately we couldn't prove at that time that is what it was, and now the evidence is buried somewhere. One of my buddies was exposed to the burning waste of the ammo dump all night till we picked him by chopper, and we thought he had been exposed to a nerve agent and was subsequently treated as such. We know the IRAQ's used nerve agents...ask any Iranian that served during the border conflict with IRAQ, I believe that if they check the remains of Iranians and Iraqi's recovered they might just found evidence of prolonged exposure to some kind of chemical agent...
