@ mike: remember that Gore didn't invent the internet. it was already there. all he did was make it available to all of us.

This is sickening I can see why Mr. Nobel recieved an award, but my God, a buffoon like Al Gore? First the Academy Awards and now the Nobel Prize, is nothing sacred?

I thought the same thing as you when I heard it. What the hell has Al Gore done for world peace. He's even Lying and spreading fear with his, "we will destroy the earth if we don't take any actions" campaign.
where is the world coming to..

We're already sailing home on a sinking ship and with people like himself, the smaller holes seem to get plugged just enough to stop leaking.

If you want some real insight into how much it's really helping for ANYONE to be an environmentalist at this point, watch CNN's Planet in Peril miniseries. It will make you feel bad inside...knowing that the ship will sink sooner than we think.
People can't do shit about the global warming. We contribute for about 5% of the co2 in the atmosphere.. yea, lets all spend millions and billions into decreasing those 5%.. (nature does the biggest deal)
watch the movie "the great global warming swindle" and feel bad inside that you believed that crap. or check this site.

Not saying global warming isn't occuring. It is occuring, it is just that this has been the case in the history of earth. really warm periods and really cold periods have been going on and off. suddenly WE are the cause of all of this. Let's jump on the political bandwagen everyone!

1 thing I once read and to think about... The Co2 exhaustion of cars is about the same as humans exhale through breathing..
So if we really wanna do something about the Co2 emissions to "fight global warming", let's all hold our breath!

I think that's what I said...we can't do much about it, so it's great that someone cares. I'm no "tree-hugger", but I will give the guy some credit for doing his homework, even if his citations aren't credited to the right source.

All I know is every time I try to listen to him explain something I feel myself getting dumber.

His voice is like the air in shopping malls, thinned out and worthless.

Talking and doing are two different things, so far I haven't seen any results from him that have made the world better (he didn't make the internet). What exactly has he done to heal the planet again? Besides telling people something they already know but just don't want to admit or take responsibility for.

Hell, lets give Michael Moore, Bill Cosby, and Pamela Anderson a Nobel Peace Price while we are at it. They have done about as much for this world as Al Gore has.

Edit: I bet when all is said and done with Global Warming (if ever) he will take credit for all of it and win another damn award.

Awww come on guys leave Al Gore alone, I kinda feel bad for him. He doesn't have any friends.

Seriously though... The guy has a lawsuit pending about Global Warming the last I checked and NASA is worried about us entering an ice age that they predicted would happen within 50 years (they predicted this in the 70s). All I know is if we enter an ice age I expect Al Gore to use a petroleum fueled flame thrower to melt the glaciers for his penance.
