Check out the incredible "Notice of privacy practices" given to patients at the Cedars-Sinai hospital in LA: you "agree" that they're allowed to share your private information for fundraising, national security, and for protective services for the President. (Which could of course be anything, and means a pretty open-ended excuse to look at medical records ... if they want.)

yes they do. & you dont have to sign. of course that means they can deny you care... unless you are emergent.
if everybody refused to sign this crap would go away very quickly.

Problem is - if you're in pain... you're gonna sign just about anything if your conscience/capable. And it sets a precedence - before too long - all medical facilities spitting all your info to any one claiming to be NSA-Campaign/presidential Assistants - who would know the difference in poorly faxed 'official authorization' documents - specially if its an intern dealing with that stuff (eventually probable, with likely spending cuts at hospitals)..... its just itching for abuse.

This is not what bothers me most...

"Headline: Trojan CEO has HIV"
Stocks plummit for that company.....

Everyone already suspects Paris Hilton of such things.... and costs me nothing - but it costs ALL the Trojan stock holders in that case. Or what ever...

potential employer:
"Hello, Ceder Siani, I'm with the NSA - we suspect Brutality as a terrorist - we need his records"

"Hmm, hes got health issues that could cost us down the road - dont hire him"

Brutality: "I thought I impressed potential employer at my interview, I wonder why they havent called?"
