It turns out he IS a fighting man just like his father!
(Curteousy of a rather hilarious story on the Onion today)

Well there's been a lot of re-inventing of the truth recently. Who knows, maybe one day this photo will become 'proof' of the President's heroic exploits.
On a side note. Did anyone else here find Bushs' ultimatum to Saddam that he had 48 hours to 'get out of town', more than a little bizarre??? I mean talk about cowboy politics, how more 'Texan' is it possible to be? And what if he doesn't get out of town? Can we all expect the war to start at high noon?
Nuts...

Cue to old western movie with George Bush speaking in a tall black hat to his posse:
"What we got here is failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So you get what we had here twelve years ago, which is the way he wants it. Well, he get's it. I don't like it anymore then you men."

I don't know what you are referring to, but I would have expected the French to have such a statement. You know, the whole thing wasn't really about Saddam, imo, nor about 1441, but about the way things were presented by the US officials. The French took it "personally", like the US were trying to push them into a war - regardless the scope or justification of that war, they just don't like to be pushed. Yes, their reaction was childish (there are higher requirements at that diplomatic level), but then the US officials should have known better - or cared more. (I remember a Brittish MP saying something similar in monday's evening debates).
If you look at this forum, you will notice that a lot of people that have been labeled anti-american actually have nothing against a UN-approved war against Iraq. The debates have gone a long way from there, though, and landed in endless contradiction about minor/unrelated facts. I think something similar happened at UN scale, and the risk of fracturing the UN is mainly based on miscomunication (incompetence?) on all sides at the diplomatic level.
Too bad this war isn't a LAN game, and the UN a web forum, but that's the way it is... politicians should have known better.

Well Byte did once threaten to crap in a moderators mouth... So if the mods can take it, well what can I say... It would be a shame though to see these threads closed just because of one idiot.
