i remember an article some years ago about them. they went out to protest seal clubbing for the baby seals furs. what they did was ran out into the group of seals and spray painted all the babys white fur red so the fur would be useless for coats, gloves, etc.

polar bears and other animals that eat seals ate for a very long time on that stunt. the babies could no longer blend in with theire snowy surroundings because of the big red paint on them.

peta effectivly killed off every one of the seals them self.

best quote about PETA ever, came from Comedy Central's Roast of Pamela Anderson [she's a big PETA promoter, you know]:

"How can anyone so avidly in love with animals, put their own beaver through so much pain and hardship?"

Pompey is on a distinguished road

I remember having a pet lamb once when I was 5 or 6. His name was Billy (everyone told me that was a goats name but I didn’t care) and he was tied up in our back yard and his house was our woodshed.

I got him for calf club at school. It was kind of like those dog competitions except for farm animals. All the townies like me borrowed animals (ones otherwise destined for the slaughter) from the local farmers and looked after them and trained them for a couple of months leading up to the event.

The day after the event he went back to the farm. Then, like a week later me and my dad got invited there where they had a lamb on a spit. It was very tasty. Took me ages to make the connection.

I think I have some photos of me and Billy somewhere.

Moral of the story:….ummm…lamb is nice?
Reason for telling it: I think its a cool story.

Will I kinda just posted it coz I think its a cool story.

But I some people dont want to acknowledge that what they are eating was once an animal, especially the kids like my brother who only eat processed “meat”. I know that what im eating was once a living thing, I feed it a bottle every day and it sure as hell hasn’t put me off meat!

Im an informed consumer lol

You can watch that episode on google video

I might be out of line saying this but I think PETA is made up of loney ugly white women and closet case men and occasionally they snap up some youngins. I can't see Black people putting livestock above themselves that's the kind of stuff white people excel at.
That is a great episode, very interesting indeed (saw it a while ago at nerdrocks place).

the problem with PETA is the same with most "activist" groups. It run by people who really can't function anywhere else in society. Probably has more to do with the terrible narrowmindedness and inability to see the big picture. Just a view of something sensationalized to them by their predecessors. Many probably join so they can feel a part of something, regardless of how disfunctional it is. For the record, I think people should treat animals with compassion and respect, but PETA certainly does nothing for their cause. Protesting Zoo's adn Butcher's shops and painting baby seals is not conservation.

and throwing blood, i think that might be red paint... or another hypocricy. and what's with the "hardcore" uk version stealing bodies of the dead. honestly if you think this way, we're all animals in basic and what they just did was what?? another hypocracy!
