i odnt have aproblem with pot either. have no use for it, but it being illegal while alcohol isnt is just ridiculous.
however, this whole cocaine(crack to i assume), heroin thing is really bad news. it says a lot anout their governments true attitudes on drugs & the amount of corruption at the highest levels. has bad ramifications for the us to.
the only possible upside is that maybe a bunch of our drug addicts will move down there. & that doent come close to outweighing the downsides.

I have to agree with you man..
I think alcohol you know cuases all these problems along with the crack and stuff.. BUT its not illegal and well you'll know that if you get drunk and you get angry you are gonig to cause some damage for example.. if you are at home.. and you are drunk off your ass.. and wife says something to you.. and you decide you are gonig to hit her.. lol BAD NEWS and well as for POT its not like when you smoke a joint a fatty a blunt or whatever.. you are gonig to cause some domestic problems No? becuase from what I know pot gets you melow and all those good things No?

I used to be addicted and involved with the supply of many substances in London. Ex-user of cocaine, crack, LSD, poppers, speed together with large amounts of Vodka and pot. Still smoke pot but stopped everything else. I can't really remember about 3 years of my life cos I was, more or less, permanently hallucinating. Also involved with the import/export of stolen goods from UK to Europe to help fund my habit(s). Have been chased though London by dude(s) with firearms for a lot of money that I could not pay. Have watched and seen people die from drugs or related incidents.
I am now a Social Worker in London trying to help others to stay alive. IMO drugs all round the world should be reclassified so that it is possible to buy any drug over the counter from a licensed premises. This is for the following reasons:
- There are many deaths caused in the UK (and I assume aound the world) by bad gear being sold to users by immoral suppliers trying to earn quick bucks at any cost. Heroin, for example often contains weedkiller. Narcotics sold by a licensed outlet would always be clean and of a high quality.
- The licensed premises MUST provide educational material on the inherit risks of substance misuse.
- Support for individuals wishing to stop misusing, should be provided by the Local Authority. An advice worker should be on hand at the licensed outlet to ensure that the client can effectively link in to support service.
- Dealers are often violent people and users are at physical risk every time they go to 'score' from these dealers and from other potentially violent users. A safer and more controlled environment would reduce the risks of being a victim of violent crime.
- Due to the high prices of 'street deals', users are often involved in criminal activity and this places the public at risk. Costs of substances could be lowered under a licensed scheme and could therefore help to reduce crime.
- Clean needles etc would be 'free' at Point of Sale and would reduce risks of HIV and hepatitis being transmitted. Organ failure and (in some cases) death can be the result from transmission of hep.
Prohibition of any kind has never been successful. It only encourages organised crime and backstreet dealing.
I trust that these comments should encourage a lively response from other DH members!!

Just wanted to add that I think Licensed Outlets would only work if Central or Federal Government provide the necessary financial resources and ensure that adequate support services are available.

I think weed should be legalized, with restrictions of course. The stronger stuff has to much of an impact in the brain. Ive never seen anyone get violent with it, just very entertaining.
I have never tried pot and never will for the same reason I dont use tobacco. My ex best friend (since about 9) was a lot smarter than me in many subjects. We were always competing with each other and it really brought my grades up. He got into the whole 'gangster' scene about 3 years ago and started using weed, I haven’t seen him in 2 years. It wasnt the weed that messed him up, it was his home life and stuff.

Pot is the only thing I can say would be OK, in small amounts.. Everything else is totally insane. Not surprising though, the corruption there is rampant, makes out government look like Sunday school.
