XP 2000 1700mhz (200x8.5), volcano 9 at 3800rpm, Corsair XMS PC3200 4-2-2-2. I want the CPU fast but it is being flaky. Won't go up to 1800....even when i overclock slowly

What me sig says.
I usually only count me overclock if it's nice & stable...and if it's nice and stable that's what I run 'em at.

It's hard to say - I have a wierd clock on my mobo, so the 1714mhz is really 143/12 and 147/12 for the 1764... I was on the verge of buying an unlocking kit for my proc, but when I got such abysmal OCs, I figured that it wasn't worth it...

cpu:
AMD AthlonXP 2200+ (not sure on the stepping)
stock speed for cpu:
1809Mhz 13.5x134
Air or Water:
Stock Fan (intend to replace soon) (low speed fan) 45*C full load
mem type:
512MB Corsair XMS PC2700 C2
mem timings:
Cas2 - 2-2-2-1T normal stock vmem
OC speed that you run everyday:
1836 (11x167) 1.66 vcore
I really cant get this system to run much beyond this.....most of my stuff is onboard so it doesnt like the FSB goin up much and I cant get it to step up to do 2Ghz.....it used to run at 1.93Ghz stable but lately it was getting flakey at that overclock (think it might have to do with my radeon 9700)

I'm boring. I run everything at stock speed. I can't afford to replace fried components, that's my main reason for not overclocking, stability is my other reason. The fact that my PC is mostly my brother's hand-me-downs has something to do with it too. I'd still be screwing around on a CONsole if it weren't for him. Specs are below:

Tell me about it. I hardly ever leave my room. See, my brother buys MOST of the hardware (he has the REAL job), and I set it all up. Besides my PC, we have 2 other PC's here running XP2400's with more RAM, harddrive, peripherals, etc. I pretty much have mine as a bare-bones gamer system. His are the print, scan, video edit, hooked-to-the-big-stereo, jack-of-all-trades systems. To get me to bother setting his stuff up for him, he gives me parts for mine. Works for me.
Now if I could just get around that having to sleep thing....and the menial job thing....

I'd like to O/C my 8500LE (now flashed to 9100 @ 275/275) and AMD XP 2000+, but I'm just not too sure about using the pencil trick voltage mod and I just can't find the specific information concerning how to unlock my CPU. I've seen a couple of sites showing how but I am not sure which one applies to my CPU.
Asides from that :
XP 2000+ (not sure which stepping)
1667MHz
Air - Stock HFS (still looking for a suitable HFS with a good sound / cooling ratio)
1 x 512 Corsair DDR PC2700
Cas2 2-6-2-1T

You don't do the pencil trick. Here. Get a crayon......Rub it over the gaps between the L1 bridges... Rub the crayon off of the gold dots to clean them up and make them shiny. Tap off each L1 bridge...... Connect each one with rear window defogger kit (get it at any auto parts store). You can easily find an unlocking guide for an XP 2000 online.

-Athlon XP 1800+(Currently Stock[1.53 GHz], I can pull off a 140FSB if I leave the case open)
-Radeon 8500 128MB(stable at 315/306 on the latest and greatest Omega Drivers and Rage3D)
-Kx Drivers on my Audigy/Logitech THX System(haha..w00t w00t)
-512 MB SMART Modular PC2100 DDR RAM, currently @ 2T
-HIGHLY Modified Windows XP Pro...I'm not sure Microsoft would recognize it as theirs if I sent my computer in...haha(I run Litestep, used a bit of XTeq/Tweak XP Pro, etc, etc)
Current 3DMark 2K1 Score is in the upper 8's, I'm shooting for 9's, and if i got some better fans I think I might could pull out a 10
Well, yall seem to all have some sweet rigs, although I'm kinda partial to ATI/AMD(they've been good to me )

Its all in the sig...thats everyday gaming and whatever...
I can get to 2011Mhz, but it locks up on me somtimes in games and isn't 100 percent stable so I back it down to 1907 (10x190??) somehow on this board equates to 1907 Mhz...lol. I really need to volt mod this board to get more core voltage, but I will wait until the warranty is up to do that...heh. I have no doubts that this processor would run 2000-2100Mhz if it just had 1.8 volts, but this board limits it to 1.7 even though it supports up to 1.85. !@#$@# MSI!! I can post at 2150Mhz (10x213 on this board..lol) but it locks trying to boot windows. I would settle for just a plain old 10x200. but 10.5x200 would be nice too..heh.
