Power supply volatages

speed fan shows my +12v rating below 11.75 it went all the way to 11.62 is that bad? i need help, i have a chepo 500watts psu

The only accurate way to test PSU voltage is by using a digital multimeter, and testing the actual voltage of the power supply. If the system is unstable at all, then I would replace it.

well, if those voltages are accurate, then i would say have your PSU replaced. 11.62v on the 12v rail is on the iffy side of things

11.5 is where it starts failing on most components..... I'd replace it.

Also make sure your PSU is under load measure the voltages. Please be careful you don't short your probes out or good bye computer!

You should look for a Fortron/Sparke power supply, they are cheaper than most quality supplies and they are damned good.

Yes, these are pretty good supplies too. Probably the only supply I'd even think about touching under $75.00.

he, i am the nieuw guy here but if you have a good power suply at that time you can overclock your CPU to 2.7 GHz (AMD Athlon64 3700+).
But remember keep it COOL
