"nightshade" mod
Well some of you may remember one of my renders a while ago. for those who dont you can see it over here http://www.driverheaven.net/desktops/
Anyway, ive been working on a cool mod for the case based on this render with the idea of tricking out the Coolermaster Stacker case.
Anyway the principal of the mod isnt anything that complicated, its just an acetate layered over a blackened side panel printed from a 10,000 pixel x 10,000 pixel render.
For those interested, the system is a Fx55, dual XFX 6800 ultra in SLI rig, scores in my signature.
I quite like the AMD FX55, its a good gaming CPU but I still prefer the extreme edition as an overall processor.

Is that the acetate or a photchop of the finished item? Either way it looks pretty cool.

The side panel was sprayed black, a matt black. The acetate was then machine cut and adhered over the black side panel. unfortunately its not a perfect cut, but its barely noticeable.

it is specialised and its "printed" onto an A1 sheet of industrial acetate, kind of like the material that is used in printing bureaus for plate printing. Its pretty costly but the results are excellent.
Of course this isnt something you can do at home with an epson bubble jet. the inks need to be virtually burnt into the acetate so they dont smudge or smear.

2x512. Unfortunately ive found with DDR and AMD setups, latencies need loosened with more than 1 gig, not at all like intel and DDR2.
The only 1 gig modules ive seen are limited and the timings suck, thankfully for gaming right now more than 1 gig is not needed, and all my work is done on an intel P4 system with 2 gig of ram

Although I wouldn't have picked that very image personally, it still makes me drool. Shame the XG Dragon won't be that modable when it comes out, but oh well ^_^

hey I just spotted this thread.
Very nice Z. Goof use of the large and boring space available on the side panel.
I like the 'nightshade' logo on the front too - is that etched?
