Thanks.

I'm nuts about that Saitek, I picked it up on a whim after getting "Crimson Skies" at my local CircuitCity for $30us. It's done nothing but flat-out impress the hell out of me, it does everything I could ask a stick to do! (And Crimson Skies was a WHOLE lot more fun! The rudder-twisty thing is the best!)

The USB Gold is one of the best... I pulled mine apart... and used silicon grease on all of the moving parts... made it much smoother. And my guess is ... It will last longer than my first one. :P joints wore out of my first one.

I like the power supply Just kinda looks like a "growth" or something. Very funny stuff. I got a question though, where does all that air going in come out? The little fan on the blowhole on top must be doing 30,000 RPM, lol.

I thought about connecting a small filtered hose to an outside window or something like that too.
I live in Buffalo and it is usually below 20F degrees all winter. Imagine the temp drop w/ a setup like that. "free cold air"- I bet it would work.

The power supply is at that weird angle 'cause it's the only way the holes would line up....I just meant it to be temporary, but it worked out so nicely I just kept it that way.

The "little" fan on the top is a 120cm that runs around 5K, but air pretty much gushes out of every orifice that I haven't closed off. Since I put me 8500 back in it's sort of funny, I can REALLY overclock it better when I turn me 10" on "high".

I cheat a little too on the temp thing living in the midwest. I've made my computer room intentionally drafty, and have an evil habit of leaving a couple of windows cracked and keeping a fleece jacket on the back of me computer chair to keep warm.

EDITED BITS: Forgot to mention, the big reason I left the power supply outside originally was 'cause I was swapping memory DIMMs around and it was a pain in the ass to keep yanking it and re-installing it. It makes it a LOT easier to work on the inside of the box with it on the outside, and it also really helps the air-flow around the CPU.

Actually having the power supply outside of the box is great for cooling too- It does produce heat, and no matter what some of that heat must radiate into the box a little bit anyway.

Definetly. My PSU gets so hot. The fan is so shitty in it. It blows for shit. I tried my old 250w PSU fan on this 350W. I got nothing. For some reason the fan wouldn't spin. So I flipped the connector around. Nothing. Still don't understand why. They are the same size and what not.
BUT YES! PSUs do add a lot of heat into the case. Even though they have a fan that draws air out of the case they definetly do add heat to the case.

Yeah, it's cooler; but...

...it's also an Ennermax 350w dual-fan that I don't think was ever intended to be outside of a case, the sucker is LOUD! (It's actually louder than me 10" in low. )
