I'm curious is OCZ will produce some "super" ram. CAS 1.5 with the tightest timing known to the industry.

I've only ONE stick of ram here that'll do CAS 1.5, the other stick simply occasionally doesn't like it, but the preformance is rather amazing, compared to that of cas 2.0.

well, i have received my OCZ Powerstream 600W - it is sitting next to me (at work) shining like a litte beauty. Can't wait to try this bad boy out when i get home and see if it helps my overclocking at all

Just a quick question regarding RMAing - in the UK how does one go about getting a direct replacement from OCZ - is it the same as the US etc. - given that the PSU weighs a tonne will i have to pay shipping

The shop where you bought the PSU would be the quickest way to obtain a new one if necessary and return the old one.

well ...

it seems as if my fears came true. Got the PSU today, put it in the system to find it making quite a clicking noice (fans weren't moving, this is just when plugged into the kettle lead) and then when i turned the system on the PSU sounded as if it was trying to take off - the system booted, but the fans were on full blast.

i then took it out and only plugged it into the wall, in two different sockets in house and the quite loud clicking was still there. looks like it is going back to the shop tomorrow

Hi,

Well just a warning to any purchasers of the OCZ 600W PSU - the whole UK shipment is buggered! They all have a strange clicking noise when plugged into the power socket. I am RMAing my unit to the UK and am being shipped a new one from the USA, which hopefully wont take too long!!

any tips for burning in some 3200VX?should i do one at a time or is it ok to just do them both at the same time?

Hi Bake,

Best to burn them in just as you will run them so...both sticks

If you will be running them on the rig in your sig..I believe that board allows up to 4V selected from the bios for the ram, but you will only get about 0.15V under whatever your 3.3V rail is on the PSU. For max performance I would recommend a PSU mod or a DDR Booster. Sorry that was a little Off Topic but I thought I would mention it.

Crank the voltage up to about 3.4V (or 3.2 if you are stock / no booster) set the timings to 2-2-2-6 and the FSB to 240 - 250ish (with 3.2V you probably will only get 235-240 but it depends on the sticks) lower the CPU multi of course and boot into memtest and just let it run.....6 - 8 hours is just about right. You will see errors right off the bat probably, but ignore them, just let it go....as the memory gets "smart" the frequency of the errors will go away until you are left with nothing but tight timing, high FSB goodness

I suggest running around 3.0v at 200fsb with 2-2-2 timings if they will do that. This stuff loves volts, but I had good luck running memtest for 24 hours, then prime95 for another 24 at those speeds also. Then jack up the volts. Just don't use more than you have to. I found 3.4v enough fto max mine out.

got my vx on wednesday and followed andys advice(burning them in at 200 at 3.0v for 24 hours)then i tried bumping the volts up to 3.4x240 but my psu would'nt allow it without moding the 3.3 rail, so today i rushed out and got a ocz powersteam 520w so now im running at 250x10 at 3.4v and my 3.3 rail at 3.6
i think they still need burning in some more even though everything's rock stable.

btw the build quality of the ram and psu is awesome

I'm having a big problem i just setup my DFI LANPARTY UT NF 4-D board with the OCZ GOLD VX memory and i can post only when memory is in slot 1&2, 2&4, 1&3 but it will run in double channel only when its in 2&4 but thats the least of my problems, when the memory is in only 3&4 slots all i get is bepping and no post, when i do get the system booting I get blue screens during windows install, I ran memtest 86 and windows memory diagnotics and on both I get a lot of errors regardless of the voltage applied to the memory, I get errors when its in all the conifgurations including only one stick at at time which is only possible in slots 1&2, this is driving me crazy, one thing that I did try was I took out the OCZ memory and put some Corsair Value Ram DDR400 and with that memory is can run in 1&2, 2&4 double channel, 1&3 I ran the memtest 86 and windows memory diag with the Corsair and I get no errors. I get errors only with the OCZ memory and I also tried updating the bios to the latest beta bios DFI had for that board which was supposed to fix some compability problems but still same thing. And I did try clearing the bios, I tried both safe bios settings and optimal. Help!

Hi,
Just wanted to pop in and say I've found your product to be top notch.
I bought this product 1gig kit and it has performed flawlessly for almost 2 years now. I bought it for my Nforce2 board and when I upgraded my rig (see sig) the memory works in the new motherboard, no post issues I just had to go into the bios and manually adjust the timings
from 2.5-4-4-8 to 2.5-3-3-7 . The bios ignores setting the Cas to 2 so from windows I use A64tweaker and then set the Cas to 2. My rig is fast and 100% stable, I ran folding and Prime95 for 2 weeks without any issues! Just an fyi for anyone that has this memory and is concidering making the move to an amd 64 platform but doesn't want to take the extra $ hit of upgrading the memory right away.

When I have the extra cash I'll definately be buying some new Ozc with tighter timings for this rig and put this back into my daughter's Nforce2.

Are you running the latest bios? Have you tried moving the jumper on the mobo to clear the CMOS and then restarting and manually setting the CAS=2, really odd, but I have heard of it happening.

Yep, I'm running the latest bios and have cleared the cmos. I forgot to mention that it only happens when I enable the 1T command in the bios. If I leave it at the default 2T I can set it to Cas 2. It's either a bug in the bios or perhaps due to the on chip memory controller of the amd 3500 cpu. Either way I'm comfortable with setting the cas to 2 via the A64 tweaker I'd rather run 1T from the get-go. There's more speed to be had with the 1T command rather than the Cas setting.

Your welcome, I also want to praise your Customer Service. When I bought the kit from GoogleGear now Zipzoomfly. One of the sticks was bad. I e-mailed GG with the problem and sent the sticks back marking the bad one(they wanted both) with a description of what memtest(s) it was failing. After 2 weeks and several promptings GG finally responded saying that there was nothing wrong with the 1 stick and gave me the choice of recieving them or getting a cash refund minus a 15% restocking fee I opted to take them back and then contacted Ozc. 1 day after Ozc recieved the stick I got an e-mail stating that the stick was indeed bad and that a replacement was being shipped out that day. Now thats what I call commitment and service. That was the day I truly became a big fan of your company and will continue to buy your product(s). needless to say I pasted Ozc's response
into a reply e-mail to GG questioning they're testing methods and customer service, needless to say I got no response. I also gave a very negative review of them on thier website. It sayed up for almost 2 weeks before they found and removed it LOL.
