I had a pm from a guy asking if I would post a picture of the DH rigs. I will post a picture of two of them. Stuart has about 4 or 5.
The one on the left is the following: (this one does all the DH work on a design level).
Two 5365 Xeon's at 3.0ghz (8 core)
32 gigabyte of DDR2
Intel 5400 mobo
NZXT 1200w PSU
XFX 8800 Ultra XXX (675/2300)
7 x 1 TB Hard drives
Dual Layer DVD burner
5 x 120mm fans
320mm side fan
Sharp 52inch 1080P Tv (1920x1080) - out of shot.
Vista 64 bit Ultimate
System on the right is Skulltrail with an alpha motherboard not yet released so I cant even detail it (picture is crap intentionally) - side panel isnt fitted as im constantly working on it.
2 TB External NAS HD for sharing.
Two Q9775's @ 4.4ghz on water (8 core)
2 Watercooling kits
8 Gigabyte of DDR2
Galaxy 1000w PSU
2 160 GB Raptor X's in Raid 0
4 x 1TB Hard drives
Two XFX 8800 Ultra's in SLI XXX Editions
Intel unreleased motherboard
Dual Layer DVD burner
Acer 24 inch screen
Vista 64bit Ultimate
220mm fan in front
200mm fan side
120mm fans x2 over cpu heads
120mm fan on northbridge
120mm fan rear
2x220mm fans under watercooling kits

Lol Zardon seriously, i think the bar has been raised to a point now where no one can compete. that is insane. 40 gig of memory and something like 20 TBs of storage between them. and 3 overclocked ultras. 16 cores of processing power (56ghz combined).
Absolutely insane.

They are actually really quiet. all low spinning fans, just a lot of them. loudest thing in the study is the air conditioner. which i need if they are both on. crazy heat levels.

haha they would put out a heap of heat, considering just how much processing power there is between them.
my system isn't quite that powerful, but it's not too shabby:
Mac Pro 3,1
2 x E5462 Quadcore Xeon @ 2.8Ghz
4 x 1Gb 800Mhz Micron FB-DIMM
1 x nVidia Geforce 8800GT 512Mb VRAM
2 x 320Gb 7200rpm HDD
1 x 250Gb 7200rpm HDD
1 x 160Gb 7200rpm HDD
1 x Pioneer 112D DVD-DL Burner
Naturally I'm also running Windows on it, in addition to OS X

well its not very exciting, just 8 modules - basically the same as this one from the review but the 1gb modules are now 4gb modules.

Well as I said I can't, the motherboard that is in Skulltrail right now is an unreleased product im helping Intel to test. There are pictures of the skulltrail system in the review on DH if you want a look around the released board however.

They are in my study yes. You don't want to see my electric bill, I don't even want to see it, last one was quite severe.

damn lol.
Well thanks for hosting such a cool website!
On a side note you should invest in Solar power to try and cut down that bill
A lot of start up cost, but with these systems I bet you would see pay back very quick!

I dont host DH on either of those machines, not sure if you mean that
We have a rack in texas which powers the network. One of those systems handles all my graphics work for the site as well as a bunch of other things. I am sure djstick will find out just how capable those dual xeons are, especially as he is into music in a big way.
Anyway ive hijacked the thread long enough, ill let you all get on with it.
Cheers !

So Z are those FB-DIMMS? (Or is it still not something you can tell us, are you still under NDA?)
And what about the heat they put out? :/
