I'd say that for dual channel you have to put modules into both red slots or both yellow slots (or into all of them).
You can download the manual here: http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/M...ame=GA-945P-S3

Thats usually how it goes.

I don't o/c my pc's.I'm one who prefers to make things last longer than push it....
Im not to sure about changing the cpu heatsink yet for 2 reasons.
A) im strapped for cash (what spare cash i had went on this pc)
B)The Bios reports the cpu at 29 deg (average) whilst idle...im not sure about the temps under use.Im still installing all the software i require.
To spend another £30 - £40 on a heatsink is currently not important. So for the time being im sticking to stock cooling.
Vista is running extremely good at the moment,Along with that this is by far the best pc i have built. This could be improved on switching to a quad core cpu but for the time being i may chhose to double the memory to 4G in the next few months.

Fair enough, i wouldnt spend the money either if i was strapped. Good to know that you are going for 4Gb but i thought only 64 bit would read 3.5 GB or higher. Ill have to look tho.

What you just said about the memory and 64 bit etc..
That actually rings a bell..i may have to look around before i decide. This will be the last build for some time,so im thinking long term.
