Got my new 2400+/SLK-800...time to OC;)
I've currently got it running at 2.2GHz at default voltage. Never even going over 43C with an Antec LED case fan(80m). Will let you guys know when I hit the max...and give you some benchmark numbers...soon

Sorry it took me so long. Anyways the CPU will only do 2180MHz while still being able to run 24/7. I run a few benches and this what I got.

UTk3 @ 1280/No AA, AF.

I will run some some tests with AA and AF, but this what I got 'till now. Also with this new mobo(KT3 Ultra2) the CPU idles at 34C and loads up at 39C....pretty crazy

Right now it's running at 1.675v but upping the voltage does nothing....all the way up to 1.85v it still doesn't give me a single MHz more. These things absolutely hate voltage increases.

hehe, that's how my 2000+ was also. It could do 1.8GHz at 1.775v but not a single MHz more with any additional voltage. I might RMA this one in hopes of a better stepping. This one is a AIUCB.

well its a great set of benchies and a nice speed, but I was hoping it would hit 2300mhz...... you are right maybe it is the stepping.

Well, I'm gonna RMA it and hope that the new one does better. Will let you know what happens in afew days. If I can hit 2300 I will be happy. But this mob only goes to 1.75v for the core. When it sees a Tbred it will not let you go to 1.85v. Very weird.

This one don't work like that. You just select the CPU voltage. I do wish it let me go to 1.85v atleast...always a minor setback in every mobo I buy.

yes I have the same mobo, and I know that specific problem issue, but I do geniunely think if you get the correct cpu it will hit 2300mhz on 1.75 core... keep in touch, id be really interested to hear your progress and findings (as our setups are very similar).... im about to purchase one myself (or I might wait until the 2600 is released). id like at least a 400mhz increase on my current setup before spending some more hard earned cash.

The weird thing is that on all the reviews that got it to 2.3GHz they said they had to use 1.90v which is alittle too high for me since they are to fold 24/7. I do understand where you are coming from on the hard earned money issue and that why I'm rma'ing in hope's of higher clock speeds. I will let you know how the new one goes... But the freakin things do run extremely cool.
Well, here are some Sandra scores:
Arithmetic
6082 it/s ALU
3095 it/s FPU
Multi-media
12214 it/s Integer
13346 it/s floating point
mem
2268 mb/s
2175 mb/s

Some good news. I got a new mobo and mem but have kept the same cpu. I have it running at 2280MHz at 1.8v. I will try to get it higher and run some tests. But I guess the cpu is pretty good afterall; just needed a good mobo and good mem.

Increase your ram voltage to get the cpu running at a higher mhz.

I have found the sweet spot. I unlocked the CPU and have settled for a 173fsb and a 2250 cpu speed. The motherboard kinda flips out at anything over 173, so I can't take it higher. Hopefully a BIOS upgrade will improve stability at a higher fsb. I'm sick of playing around with the clocks so this is how it stays-for now.

Just for reference I got my AthlonXP 1600+ up to 1805@1.825v, FSB 175. I'm going to unlock it soon, I'm pretty happy though to keep things quiet@1400MHz. I've got an AX-7, not SLK-800, but I have to say the cooling is impressive when I'm running the YS-Tech fan at full speed. But I can also silence my case which is such a cool feature. So anywho my question is.....How loud is that thing? Also, what RPM does the SLK's Fan run at?

Wow, that an awesome OC you got on that 1600+. 400MHz is alot
Anyways, I'm running a very quiet 2500rpm 80mm case fan and at 1.85v it running at 44C...not too bad. The SLK800 is the best I have ever used

That doesn't hold a dime to my 1600+ AROIA Y that can boot into Windows (no 3D) at 1.98ghz@2.20v and can run games at 1.94ghz@2.15v
Curretly running at 1.85ghz@1.9v, so I can keep the rpms down....
Epox 8K3A+ bios 2a25...
