System Specs

Default Post Q-Tec 400w

My old PSU (300w) cooked but survived due to a sticking fan.

But I'd bought this with the intention of fitting it later, so despite percussive maintainence respinning the fan after it had cooled down, I swapped them over.

Now my system gives me BEEP - BLOOP bursts - now I know I heard that before as a BIOS temperature alert... but all OK

But the negative voltages are WAY high - -13.2 for the -12 and -5.95 for the -5
If they tip a little higher, THAT might be the answer.

Seen some bad reviews too - is this make/model junk ? The 550w was rated much better in the review I saw (AFTER I bought this one)

Take it back for a replacement?
Hope it settles down - it might NOT be the -V it's complaining about, and it does seem to be getting better?

Take it back and get something better?

Or refit the old one with a new fan?

Only a 1200 TB with 3 sticks of 128 SDRAM, GF2MX, SBLIVE
(but drive-heavy, 20 Mb HD, CD-RW and DVD, both sizes of floppy and a Ditto 3200 tape)

Do I NEED a meaty PSU?

The real annoyance is the system box is a real SWINE to get out, since it also acts as a shelf support for the scanner!
