Does this count as a case mod?

1. (ages ago) - hacksawed some of the internal metalwork (behind panel) to accomodate a 3 1/2" tape drive with a bulge that stopped it fitting the bay.

2. Planned...
Replace PSU (300w cheapie) with 400w cheapie ( dual fan Q-Tec 400w - are they really as bad as some reports I read?)

And remove the noisy/ineffective 60mm rear fan - i had to slow it down (ex heatsink 5500 rpm) to reduce noise

My own design - a preset speed controller - but I should have stuck a varible on the back panel.

I think those would all fall into the category of "utilitarian modifications" (i.e., "jerry-rigging"). But hats off, nontheless.

I try! - the drive is PERFECT in the panel, but fouled the metalwork behind - to look at the front, you wouldn't know the deviousness to get it fitted!

But the case is already side vented.

I WOULD consider blowholes, but not windows - I'd have to be a lot more tidy than usual with the wiring!

I saw a "Knight rider" light panel on one machine - nice, but it'd drive you mad after a while.

I hate this box compared to my old AT-case - a Desktop with SEVEN bays, ALL filled.
3 x 5 1/4" (CD-ROM, CD-RW and 5 1/4" floppy)
2 x 3 1/2" - Floppy and Tape drive (similar surgery required!)
2 x Hard disk in rear bays

Cable layout was a KNIGHTMARE!
Not to mention that some simms were too tall for the front bay to slide over
