Default Post Bought a 1600+ to replace my 1900+????

May sound wierd but I did. I had a Athlon XP 1900+ AGOGA "Y" core running at 1740MHz (2100+ speeds) and after reading success stories about the 1600+ AGOIA "Y" core I decided to get one for the heck of it.

The MAX speed my 1900+ was able to get was 1760MHz @ 1.85V. My new 1600+ gets 1860MHz @ 1.75V!!!!

This puppy can get over 1900MHz with 1.85V!!!! That is over 500MHz overclock.

It is true...these chips are gold mines! All for about $55US!!!!

I am running it at 1860MHz because I want silence....no loud fans allowed!

Gotta love AMD!

Good choice. My 2000+ is the same exact core but it tops off at 1.8GHz @ 1.80v-nothing more no matter how much more voltage. Should be getting my new 2400+ by the end of the week along with my new swiftech 462 hsf. Will let you know how that does
Enjoy your new zipping cpu

The 1600+'s from newegg have been rocking lately, pick them up.

My 2100+ does @ 1.9 Ghz stable on 1.85 V and can post higher but windows won't load, even if temps are ok.

I have changed my AGOGA 1700+ for AGOIA 1600+. I haven't still unlocked it, but soon.

off-topic: KT3 Ultra-ARU is an excellent MoBo - if the cooler is not attached on processor socket, it will not turn it on (I thought that my proc isn't working because of that, but then I just attached it).

I will post my results here later this week.
