Overclocking Sapphire Radeon 9600 np

Hi everyone..

I looked around for this before posting, but I really couldn't find what I was looking for. I have a Sapphire ATI radeon 9600 np card, I wanted to know how much can I overclock this card without removing the heatsink on it? I don't have the money to buy anything right now, so I have to work with what I have. I don't want to push it too much, just push it alittle so I can see my games running faster. So if anyone has an idea of how far I can push it with the heatsink it comes with, post here plz. Thanks...

Use ATItool, this program lets you determine which is the higher clock that your graphics cards can run

One question aboutATITool. Will it stop when its finds the right core and memory speeds? Because I'm running it now and its just going up.

Yeah it should stop. It just takes a while to test.

With ATI tool....it should stop .... as soon as it detects errors of any kind....very excellent tool..... HOWEVER.. i recommend sticking around for awhile.... and letting it run each test for about an hour....... this will guarantee a stable fast overclock result...

Thanks guys..

I overclocked it to 360/500. Not sure if its a major jump from the 325/400 it was at, but I have seen great improvements on the games I have played. I did run the ATITool test for 2 hours before setting it to that, so I think its stable. The card is not giving off any real heat ..so thats a good sign. I'm not sure if I will push it anymore, I just might

Thanks again for the help.
