Bios for a 9500 pro?

Bios for a 9500 pro? my current project.....

I have a 9500 pro 128mb running stock at the moment 275/275 (with 3.3 hynix ram, spec'd @ 300mhz (600mhz ddr)) and i'm looking for the best yet unlocked bios for this card. I'm not shure If it need to be unlocked becouse i will be editing the clocks via bios then flashing it in to permantly be running at a decent but relatively safe o/c.

part number on PVC(screen printed on board):
109-A05600-00

on sticker:
102A0560203 074520

Bios part number listed from the ati site is
102A0560203

It's the stright line memory version (not the L shaped that the earlier bords had)

This card is pre owned (I bought it from a friend on here ZD) and had been flashed to a warp 11 bios so that it could be overclocked. But unpon further inpection the bios in the card reads...

113-A05601-101

and the ID string R300 Hynix Pro Channel CD Bios 2002/11/15

Wich I have found to be a bios labeled on http://www.radeon2.ru/downloads/bios.html

BIOS îò Sedoy SPb äëÿ ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB -> FireGL X1 (325/310)
P/N 113-A05601-101, Hynix memory, 15/11/2002, NTSC, ïåðåïÃ*éêÃ* îáÿçÃ*òåëüÃ*Ã*!

Is this the best bios for this board? For that it almost apears to be a FireGL bios but i'm unclear I'm of couse after speed... I will be making custom cooling (that will look cool as h***) for this card and cranking up the clocks a little

any sugestions?

If you want the original bios, I think I still have it saved somewhere. Let me know and I will look for it.

Well I'm not up on video card bioses, for I just wondering if there is a better one to try for this card. So far this smokes the 9600xt in 2001se just stock.

only thing that get my attention is if the bios is for a firegl and not the regular radeon then it's possable that it could slow it down but mabe provide a higer presision....

I'm just after max fps

The card was always on track in regards to scores with other 9500 pro's that I compared to. Scored well over 4200 3dmark03 on stock. A 9600XT is lucky to do that OC'd. The bios is a normal 9500 pro bios minus a line or plus a line of code to allow overclocking - hence the reason is shows as a 9700 pro. I researched it all before flashing it. You have the best bios right now. There may be an updated one but I never came across one.

well this bios string is this shows its a warp 11 bios i quoted above

BIOS îò Sedoy SPb äëÿ ATI Radeon 9500 Pro 128MB -> FireGL X1 (325/310)
P/N 113-A05601-101, Hynix memory, 15/11/2002, NTSC, ïåðåïÃ*éêÃ* îáÿçÃ*òåëüÃ*Ã*!

and when i DL that bios, with the same title in the bios "R300 Hynix 9500 Pro Channel CD BIOS - P/N 113-A05601-101" it has a file name of FIREGL.rom and zip name of r9500p_fglx1.zip

when i open it with an editor they match exactly... even the id is set to the same and would be shown as a 9700 pro...

I figure I may leave this alone since this works fine the way it is

woot i was right.....

I tested a bios that is / should have been the right one... useing ram bios

It took ok so i flashed it in... this is an ullocked bios ment for this card and it still shows as a 9700 pro

Score stock with the old bios (marked firegl) on 3 runs , dead on,2001se
12,900

Score stock with new bios on 3 runs, dead on ,2001se
13,024

Sweetness now it pawns my 9600xt even more... ... I'll over clock this hush puppy after I get my custom cooling made. I wish my digi cam battery wasn't dead...

THis would make a ubber sweete artical the custom cooling part

The reason

I believe the way 9500 PROs are unlocked is by changing the ID of the card. That's why it shows up as 9700 PRO. I have a Sapphire 9500 PRO and I love it still Great to see it being discussed still.

so the 9500 pros are locked at the bios/hardware level.. that even a omega driver can't fix?

I have one too, but right now it lies on my desk after a sudden failure. Still can't help loving having one. So right now I'm enjoying some 2D strategy games. Perhaps it was time to upgrade anyway this summer...

Omegas drivers fix it just fine.

if you don't unlock in the drives then no....

lets say you overclock ... then you start an 3d game your drivers will roll you back to your bios defults wich is stock!

you can hack the bios but ati lerned this and put it in thew drivers too i'm asumeing
so if you just use the unlocked drivers, like in the omegas, you o/c will stay just fine

........................

but useing stock ati drivers and the hacked bios makes you card show up as a 9700 pro i can o/c with rad clocker just fine. but most people don't wanna mess with this bioses, it's not for beginers

Neon, do not forget to try out the softmod as well. It is a straight RAM and when I used it before, I never had any problems.
