How do I mount my custom GPU cooler?

I have a 1U heatsink I want to mount, my question is: Do I need to use nylon bolts, or will steel ones work? And can I use steel nuts as long as I use an O-ring as a washer? Any other suggestions on how I can mount it?

nylon washer's will really come in handy. Though I have seen some guys use zip ties for it Biggest things is machining the 1U heatsink......if it isn't done right.......you will kill your card.!!!

I have seen an article or 2 on some of the over clocking sites where this was done.......looks neat and works really well.......but takes a lot of time.

The only thing I have to do to it is drill the holes and cut it to clear 1 capasiter. I was thinging I could use 0-ring's on the edges of the heatsink to provide more stability, since i don't have a shim on my card. Does this sound like it'll work?

It should........just be careful to get all the metal shavings cleaned off the HS......and double and then triple check your clearances. Better to be safe then sorry......you dont want something to make contact and short out the card.
