AMD Athlon XP 2400+ @200x11 or 166x13.5

What would be best for performance and for the cpu, to run it at 11x200 with mem at 200MHz and Cas3,3,3,6 or 13.5x166 and mem at 200Mhz and Cas 2,2,2,5??
Does it have any effect on how well my cpu can cope with it?

the 200 FSB really seriously helps with DDR.... i think FSB would be the way to go.....

won't it matter that my memory latencies are higher?

well yes.. a bit... but if you have the extra 34mhz pushing it ... along with the CPU's own boost in bandwidth on the bus... it should compensate and do even better in generally overall .... Why don't you run a few tests... run a few Futuremark benchmarks.. play a few games.... whatnot.... see if you "feel" it's faster

But at 13.5x166 my memory and FSB are the same. With lower latencies at 2,2,2,5 instead of 3,3,3,6 at 200Mhz

the latencies will not compensate for the increase in MHz.

like i said.... it veries depending on to many factors... what he's doing.. what he has for hardware...etc.... reason i said he should see for himself.... have a "feel" for it...

333mhz FSB here... It's an AMD, so it has a lower FSB than Pentiums.

Yea, most AMD are 266/333mhz, but there are some 400mhz out there, the higher barton cores
But doesn't mean we can't go 400mhz
Runnin' 220mhz on 10x / 210 on 10.5x / 200 on 11x and they ran fine for me, i'm on 220 x 10 cuz it's much faster, more bandwidth

What is a good test to test if it is running stable? And it won't hurt my CPU unless the temperature rises to high, right? My core voltage is 1.75V according to asus probe and I set it to 1.7V in my bios.

i think i'll run it at 11x200. this runs stable and is fast

well it appears the the test that show the 200mhz FSB as being lower are marginally lower... were as the gains are significant.....
