Need some advice from the pro's please....

Ok, here's the current spec and what I would like to achieve.

Chieftech Scorpio TX-10BD Black with Windowed Side Panel including 80mm fan.
Current cooling, window 80mm Delta (Intake fan to cool gfx card)
Rear of case 2 x 80mm Ys-Tech (extracting air)
Front of case 1 x 80mm Ys-Tech (Intake)
Had to remove the hard drive fan as I have 5 ATA 100 drives fitted between the two caddies.

Motherboard: Epox 8K3A+ Onboard Raid
1.4Ghz Thunderbird *Un-clocked @ the moment, not going to bother as new upgrade coming soon.
2 x 512Mb of PC2100DDR *Crucial*
Alpha Pal 8045 fitted with 1 x 80mm Ys-Tech @ 4600rpm
Nvidia Geforce 4 Ti4600 *Thermal take copper fan kit fitted*
SBLive 5.1
3Com Nic
(40.00 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 0 (100.00 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 1
(40.00 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 2 (40.00 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 3
(40.00 GB) [Hard drive] -- drive 4
260GB total storage.

Currently all fans apart from the CPU are controlled using a Digidoc.
Current internal temp is 28c
Current CPU temp is 38c normal – 45c under load.

As you can imagine I would like very much to drop these temps way down.

I also have two spare 80mm Delta’s
I know the Delta’s are noisy but it’s not a major issue either.

What I would like advice on is the following:

Without going out and buying anything more at the moment*Broke after Ti4600 purchase*
What is the best way to have my fans running?
All sucking air out?
All sucking air in?
Also the orientation of the CPU fan, is it better to have the blow arrow on the side of the fan pointing up or down towards the heatsink CPU?

I have also just ordered a UV CC and 3x 80mm Ys-Tech (UV-Blue)

Where is the best place to fit the CC in this case to obtain the best results, bear in mind that there is a nice clear window and I’d like the fans to look their best, also all ATA100 rounded White cables so I am hoping these will react to the UV CC as well.

Any advise you can offer would be most appreciated.

you could put a 80mm blow hole on the top o fthe case to extract more hot air from the drives and cpu since hot air rises.

one or two 80 mm fans on the front of the case at bottom sucking air in (preferably with a filter to reduce dust being sucked in)... one or two at the top of the case sucking out as heat rises, this ensures the cool air is sucked in from the front over the mobo, while the fan(s) at the top make circulation good by moving the internal airflow.

additionally one 80 mm fan at back sucking in with a dust filter, and additional fans if wanted added to the side of the case over the motherboard blowing out.

depending on the fans used, this can and probably will get loud.

watercooling anyone ??

I was thinking of fitting a 120mm fan in the top of the case, I don't have room for more than 1 x 80mm at the front, I use 1x80mm Delta blowing onto the board from the side panel.
Do you think the 120mm will be overkill ?

as long as you can stand the noise, no I dont think its overkill, I have 2 120 mm ystech fans on the top and two more on the side, and the temps are great.

I have a 120mm on top of Bubbles drawing air out and I personally think it works a lot better than the twin 80mm fans I have in Blue doing the same thing with less noise.

I tend to agree from my experience, that a good 120mm fan does more than 2 80mms, depending of course on the models. I tend to normally use YSTECH fans in all my systems. ive found them really reliable, great at cooling ... oh yeah and pretty noisy generally. lol.

a good 120mm on the top of a rig is the route to a cool stable system.

I have a few 120mm server fans, might try one out before making the hole in the case.

I have tried to make a blowhole before and ruined the side panel , that was a good excuse for getting the window mod.

Oh well if all else fails I'll just have to buy another case, think they have gonne down in price anyway.

Am I the only one who just thinks that combining water with electronics is an invitation to disaster? Nothing against those who do, I just don't think I'm gonna ever be able to get over my natural inclinations against combining the two.

watercooling is great, just the initial outlay isnt as inexpensive as buying a couple of fans.

Yes water cooling is the best aside from some thing i seen u put these 2 little clips on the top of ur cpu and they are like little mini ac's They can get the CPU temp as low as 20 degs. If you set it to but that cold is not safe, but the point being it instantly cools to whatever temp u set, which roxs, but if i remember was very costly.

But anyway water colloing is in a way just like fans, u still have to have fans for most, the fans blow at the water pip things, just water cools easyer and does not get as hot, which is why its better then just a plain fan, but they can add up as well. As for as havin water with electronics, its not so bad if u know what ur doing and stuff, cuz it wont leak or nothing.

the best way is ,let the case open,and low down the voltage of the cpu core a bit(if you don't wanna overclock),
