Default Post Can a AMD Athlon XP processor be unlocked to become a MP processor?

Can it be done?

Im thinking of going dual AMD processors in the future, but can I unlock my present 2000+ cpu into a MP processor?

Isn't it the same as an mp, with the mp just getting more testing and etc?

The MP has some extra bridges closed. Sorry I can't remember exactly what bridges they are though

It's impossible to change an Athlon XP into an Athlon MP...........

The Athlon XP uses organic material, so it can support higher speeds....
The Athlon MP uses ceramics, so it can support higher temps....

They use another material because they aim another kind of market.........

It's a detail, but I wanted to let you know....

But it's possible to unlock the Athlon XP to achieve full multi-processing capacities...

Aye!

I should of clarified what I needed info on.

Indeed to UNLOCK the XP processor to have full multi processor capabilities.

So far, seems all that needs to be done is connect the L5 bridge's together.

That correct and all that needs to be done?
