Is my computer running too hot?

I recently purchased a Pentium 4 2.6Ghz combined with a ASUS P4P800 Deluxe and ATI Radeon 9600 XT (beautiful system ). But I am worried about the temperature. Checking through the Bios and ASUS Utility, I am getting readings of 40C for CPU and around same for MB, sometimes even shoots up to 45C. Can someone please tell me if these are normal or is it most like heatsink not applied properly on? Thankyou.

Wow dude 40°C for your motherboard
Well i think it's a bit hot yes, mine is around 24°C (idle) and 28°C Max at full speed
For the CPU 40°C is pretty cool i guess, don't worry about that

System Specs

40-45 is just fine so no need to worry. The "motherboard temp" or otherwise also called "system temp" probes are especially fickle when it comes to comparisons in between systems, as their exact positioning varies and there might be additional hardware installed closeby that affects the reading in one system to be a lot higher without there actually being warmer on overall inside the casing. Concentrate on the CPU reading in the future, and don't worry until it gets a good bit over 60C at full load (gaming for hours and similar). In cases where the heatsink mounting is incorrect you would quickly get temperatures towards or above 80C and/or on a regular P4 system see signs of thermal throttlning, whereas the CPU clock is decreased to fight the heat.
