either class limited GFX (by value) or, even better, leave them out for "stock" entries. I have modified class so it's not applied on me, but others will appreticiate clock&fsb comeptition over money competition since 300+ $ GFX put them on top...like I said in a few posts before...

So are you saying that if you have a top GFX card than you should be in the modified class? I think that modified and super modified classes mean just that. At least super modified means anything goes. I dont think it should be called a "money competition". I dont think it should be just based on what card you have. My .02

But you gotta admit it is not only a "money" competition. It wasnt easy getting my M-2600 tweaked to where it was. And I am not the only one. I take OC'ing seriously. I rode the hell out of that thing. This is the first time I ever had the best of anything and my new rig is on the verge of imploding just like my $99 mobile was. Yes money can buy everything I have but money cant abuse it like I can! LOL. SIK

when I said "money comeptition" I was thinking of graphic cards. So I think the best way would be to exclude them from stock, and leave them in "pro stock" and "s.modified" where you can have a money limit in "pro stock", say up to 400$ (means no x800pe, 6800ultra, or any 6800 SLI combinations). I hope I helped.

okie dokey... I have my basic stock entry - 3.2northy @ stock speeds.
I need to get an ORB upload though... I have lost the cd for the modem on my desktop... I'm online on my laptop atm... when I get home I'll be fine.
3D Mark 2001SE - 22591
PC Mark 2004 - 5003
3D Mark 2003 - 12987
total = 40581
/3 = 13527
I'll try getting more... ocing vid card will render a couple of slightly improved results

out of my league to enter into it
Xp-m 2500+ @ 12.5x200 = 2.5ghz
using a Sp-97 with a 92mm panaflo fan
AIW9800 pro @ stock.
detailed specs in my sig.
3dmark2k3 = 6420
3dmark2k1 = 18887
Pcmark2k4 = 4368
Now say I tossed in a X800xt, how much would that improve my lot do you think?

how are ppl supposed to compete in the stock class, when its full of x800`s??
my 9800xt wont touch them....so therefore its exclusively out of range for anyone without an x800??
bit elitist if u ask me.
mebbe sections should be graded on the core class of graphics card.....you`d get more peopleentering then....

The competition may well be changing a little soon but this is the "Fastest Rig" competition.
Its all well and good saying that the classes should be video card based but all that does is shift the advantage toward those with high end processors and memory.
Those with x800s and 3gig p4s are going to beat those people who have an x800 and a 2gig p4 or lower.
We may look at changing the classes but for now they stay as they are.

yep, i'm correct - it doesn't make the competition any more or less fair by changing it.
If the video card you have is not powerfull enough to win the avatar for your class then the only thing to do is to buy a new video card.
If the x800 is faster than the 9800 then those machines with x800s are going to win. Their x800s will make their rigs score higher.
Like I said, we may be looking at ways to change the competition in a little while - so hang fire.
