Default Post Overclocking Problem, Please help

OK hers the problem. I unlocked my Xp 1800+ today. My motherboard is a Asus A7V333 with a 512 stick of DDR2700. It gave me all the multipliers when i unlocked it. When i get the mutliplier to 10x It give me the "cpu failed due to overclocking" message. If i change it to 10.5, I can raise it to as high as 142/34 or 35 in the bios under cpu/pci bus. So i can only get about 289 fsb till windows starts getting crazy and reboots and acts funny. I have all the memory timings get at default and was wondering if someone could help me out with this problem. Right now the system clock is at 139 and the system bus is at 278 and it is stable but i wanna get more cause i know it can. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Scott

Ps, the multiplier is at 11.5

i have the same problem with the same setup...

changed to 1:1 from 4:5, from turbo to optimal, cas from 2 to 2.5 and then 3, still can't get to 166. temps are 39/25 under load and vcore 1.8.

i'm getting tired of crawling on the floor, unplugging the power and shorting out the cmos. damned rugburns.

I also didnt see any mention of Vcore voltage.

Do you know that overclocking requires you to turn up the voltage of the vcore?

It wont run stable if you dont but you are also gonna find out that this has a bad side also and thats the raise in temps.

So make sure your cpu has good cooling before you continue.

Do some research (alot of reading) and make sure that your doing it right.

Sorry if i sounded like i was talking to a noob but your new here and i am not aware of your knowledge in these maters.
