Damn, that is a sweet rig. The Tualatin is really a niche product, but I think it's still very hot. ^_^
The only thing there that I'd change would be the CPU cooler. But even without changing that, your temps look to be pretty acceptable.
A very sweet rig' ya got there.

Yeah, well, I can't really think of anything else to add or replace; it's a nice machine. Maybe invest in a RAID array later on?

Thxs,
i've been looking into a cooler but havent been able to find anything that i like, there was one, a global i think, for 1 its ugly (dragon orb sure is pretty) and 2nd my ram slots are rt next to the cpu which makes space a commodity....any suggestions on a cooler?
oh and yeah its an intel, its specs temp max out at 80c (which the chip would burn) am @ about half that which is reasonable, if i has an amd i would be running alot hotter!

I just zipped over to asus' german ftp (always seems to have much newer stuff than their other sites). Here is a link to the TUSL2-C bios section. There's 1012 final and 1013 beta 001. ftp://ftp.asuscom.de/pub/ASUSCOM/BIO...815ep/TUSL2-C/

Hmmm.... let me put it this way... IMHO the ram is holding you back... (not that 166 can be called holding you back... but whatever). I'm sure you've considered all of the options and have come to this point with good reason... but since you ask for it : my opinion is that your system would perform even better if you dropped the cpu multiplier down (if necessary) and increased the FSB. Anyone else?

Hmm... good point... but then again... wasn't there a way to unlock the Tualatins? (My experience has only been with Katmai's and Coppermines)
